Every time I keep asking I get no response. Which makes me think it’s the same person……

So that poster set themselves up for a pretty snarky comeback which I refrained from dropping on them. Something along the lines of “you mean a coward like someone who is a long standing member of a message board full of regulars but is so ashamed of their past posts they sign up from scratch to try to hide that. You mean that kind of coward?” It was obvious low hanging fruit. Why people just lay into others when it just sets them up for an obvious response is beyond me.

Vitek was very good last year and sucked this year, players have bad years.

I absolutely do not believe that.

Vitek will be gone in the offseason. Either to Calgary in the inevitable Markstrom trade or via buyout if they don't want him.

I didn't think buyout was really on the table, but it's under a million for the next two years and it may cost a 2nd round pick or something just to dump him.

Buying him out is also cheaper than waiving him and sending him to the minors. He would still count for $2 million+ on the cap if he were buried, but the buyout also leaves him on the books for one more year. But only for about a million.

I'm pretty sure he's played himself off the team after the year he had. I'm not sure a rando market correction stretch can save him to end the year like it did for Cory Schneider in 2019. He's much easier and far less painful to buyout than Schneider would have been with 3 years left or even 2 (or even 1 year!) years left like we did.

Ok so apparently Allen’s 5v5 save percentage is better than any of the Devils goalies. Looks like Montreal PK has been a tire fire. Is Allen worse than usual on the PK?

The MTL PK apparently believes in leave the slot and right in front of the net wide open.

Someone else pointed out that, although that is how we all feel, I don't think we'd get Allen in December at 50% cost.

They'd probably give him at full price or 75% on us.

So we had to wait it out longer to get that discount retention.
