POSTED: 1:23 pm EDT July 1, 2005
Toronto, ON -- The new competition committee that is expected to be a key component in the revamped National Hockey League after the lockout ends has been set up, according to The Sports Network of Canada.
The new entity will be responsible for discussing and recommending all rule changes, something that was previously handled by the league's general managers.
The idea of such a committee gained momentum during collective bargaining negotiations in early May. According to TSN, it will consist of four active players, four GMs and one owner.
