This would definitely be interesting to see.

I assume it would be easy to tabulate at this screen.

I am a little busy right now, but could look into trying to do something later tonight.

Wow cool! I'll try to play with this tonight as well. Thanks!

edit: right off the bat, my above post was wrong.

We've played 33 games against the playoff field and scored 94 goals for a GF average of 2.85/game which is just 2% lower than our regular season average.

Are you including western teams, or just eastern playoff teams?

A quick scoring tally vs. current playoff teams:

Ovechkin 22-12-34
Backstrom 8-23-31
Carlson 7-13-20
Johansson 8-10-18
Green 2-15-17
Ward 9-6-15
Brouwer 7-7-14
Kuznetsov 3-10-13
Niskanen 2-10-12
Fehr 8-3-11
Burakovsky 4-7-11
Alzner 1-8-9
Laich 2-5-7
Chimera 1-5-6
Wilson 0-5-5
Orpik 0-4-4
Hillen 0-3-3
Schmidt 0-2-2
Glencross 1-0-1
O'Brien 1-0-1
Latta 0-1-1
Beagle 0-1-1

Albeit helped by special teams, 90 produces. Fehr's numbers are a bit disappointing. How about Mr. Offensive Breakout Jay Beagle? Maybe not so much. Burakovsky eighth among forwards...too bad son.

D-men third and fifth speak to dat PP. Good thing those opps don't dry up or anything.

Still don't understand the treatment he got all year.

I'm too lazy, but I'd love to see Glencross' numbers with Calgary as well.

I want to see ES stats only, and regulation stats only. Player and team data.

So I did my semi annual glance at the standings. The inflating of team points and over all records is misleading to us old school guys. All teams records look good/the same. And I see they have done their annual melding of the divisions into the playoff picture. Who is in our division again?

Only 5 teams in our conference have a losing record. Its like a league ready to give out loser trophies. Why even have records, just show us the points in the first column and end the confusion.

I wonder if a team has shattered their total points record and missed the playoffs.

ES only:

Ovechkin 11-8-19
Backstrom 6-11-17
Carlson 6-10-16
Fehr 8-3-11
Johansson 7-4-11
Ward 6-3-9
Burakovsky 3-6-9
Alzner 1-8-9
Brouwer 4-4-8
Kuznetsov 2-6-8
Green 1-7-8
Niskanen 1-7-8
Laich 2-5-7
Chimera 1-5-6
Wilson 0-5-5
Orpik 0-4-4
Hillen 0-3-3
Schmidt 0-2-2
O'Brien 1-0-1
Latta 0-1-1
Beagle 0-1-1

Explains the Fehr #s given the lack of PP time. Burakovsky bumps up to t-fifth among Fs. Alzner with more ES points vs. current PO teams than Green?

It might be easier to back out the games played. If I'm correct above and there were 33 GP against playoff teams, subtract the games missed by the player you're looking for.

Ovi would be -0 (just the Buffalo game)
Alzner would be -0
Green would be -7
etc.

31 GP vs. current playoff teams.

ES only:

Ovechkin 11-8-19 (30 GP)
Backstrom 6-11-17 (31 GP)
Carlson 6-10-16 (31 GP)
Fehr 8-3-11 (27 GP)
Johansson 7-4-11 (31 GP)
Ward 6-3-9 (31 GP)
Burakovsky 3-6-9 (23 GP)
Alzner 1-8-9 (31 GP)
Brouwer 4-4-8 (31 GP)
Kuznetsov 2-6-8 (30 GP)
Green 1-7-8 (24 GP)
Niskanen 1-7-8 (31 GP)
Laich 2-5-7 (24 GP)
Chimera 1-5-6 (27 GP)
Wilson 0-5-5 (25 GP)
Orpik 0-4-4 (30 GP)
Hillen 0-3-3 (18 GP)
Schmidt 0-2-2 (16 GP)
O'Brien 1-0-1 (8 GP)
Latta 0-1-1 (23 GP)
Beagle 0-1-1 (28 GP)

Still can't get over how much Beagle goes to town against bad teams (with the exception of the fringe Sharks game).

Nine of the remaining 14 games are against current playoff teams.

Whats the latest word on Orpik? I can't seem to find anything.

We need him back asap.

Excellent dig up Deadly PG

We've given up 30+ shots in each game Orpik has missed. He sets the physical tone on D.

Now just need Beagle and Latta ready.

Still don't understand the treatment he got all year.

I'm too lazy, but I'd love to see Glencross' numbers with Calgary as well.

In Burakovsky's first 15 games he had 12 points, in his last 35 games he's had 10 points. And he did get a lot of time on the second line over Kuznetsov as you recall. Not to mention Burakovsky has little use in the bottom 6.
