Not exactly sure why, but it appears as if there is some complication between Daniel Cleary and PHI. Told he will not be joining Flyers.

Paul Holmgren, appearing in a full body cast, attributes the mix up to 'err...umm..paperwork snafu.'

Maybe he tried to trade Cleary before he signed the contract :sarcasm:

Seriously, the complication was probably the Flyers being at 50 contracts and not being able to shed one.

Or not realizing he has to be under the cap with Pronger before he can put Pronger on LTIR.

Philly apparently doesn't understand how contracts, the cap, or the CBA work.

I thought you could be over the cap by 10% before the start of the season? Or did that rule change under this CBA.

How is that crazy? Hodgson was one of the bright spots on their team last year and is only getting better.

And unlike Henrique he has produced when he wasn't between two superstar wingers.

Seems like a good deal.

It buys out ufa years obviously it's going to be an overpayment but it's not like it's a great overpayment to where it can be a bad contract so I like the deal for the sabres.

Yeah, not sure why the Hodgson deal makes the Henrique deal look good. They're about the same.

Cody is a liability defensively but has time to grow on that front and is more dynamic than Henrique offensively.

Sekera on the change from Buffalo to Raleigh: "I think everything is better than Buffalo."

Yikes! Shots fired.

I'm sure everyone saw this coming a mile away, but:
