I’ve always said. These old dudes get waaaaay too excited when yzerman for Sakic call them. They probably schmooze these old geezers. And pro sports is basically just a club of sycophants.

Seriously i do not f***ing get this. It would have been one thing if the ask was Binnington money, if the ask of 3.5 was true this may be the angriest I've been about a trade in a long f***ing time.

I have to think the only way they do this is with another trade lined up. Gibson from Anaheim would make sense. Maybe Kuemper. They just hate negotiating contracts apparently.

I’ll be willing to bet they’re going to go after Andersen on a show-me deal. Not sure if they’ll end up retaining Bernier. If they weren’t willing to pay Ned $3.5M, will they pay Bernier that much?

I mean don't get me wrong, i don't hate the idea of a Mrazek-Bernier tandem at all... But I'd much rather spend a million per more for a Mrazek-Ned one.

Just dumb. Have a chance to do a short prove-it deal (1-2 years) at $3.5M and they trade him instead?

Bernier just came off a $3M contract, so if they are lucky they save $2M on this trade from Ned's ask if they sign Bernier?

If this dude on the other thread is legit and they were/are in on Gibson...

That's the only thing that makes sense to me, as well.

That just seems so obvious. And maybe that swap is even worth doing for a late 1st or good 2nd round pick. But #70 or #94 this year is weak.
