Larry brooks is the source? Lol

Necas would only move in a deal involving for a serious upgrade (ie EP40) or a physical high scoring forward.

Necas wants to play center and he hasn’t met RBAs very high standards. So we may have a drag out negotiation timeline this summer but we have more than enough space to cover an OS or his demands

He's a beast and only likely to get better. He was a bit of a late bloomer. Moving him, unless he is absolutely demanding out, would be a huge mistake. On another more offence orientated team, he's going to be even better.

Surprising, guess the canes don’t want to commit to him long term. Has he just not been a fit Rod’s system, canes fans? Is it a cap issue/are salary demands crazy?

Still very difficult to give any measure of confidence in these rumors being true because these "insiders" are just never very good at it. We have no Adam Schefter in the nhl unfortunately...and fortunately if you really think about it...

If there is any validity, then I would just assume they want to get a player like buchnevich/guentzel/etc. Not really sure why they would even trade necas though when I am sure there are others on that team that should be going over him. Either way, I would hope yzerman gives carolina a call to hear what the needs are. We need a top 6 and RHD, at least rhd minimum. So this would satisfy that requirement pretty easily.

He'd have a huge market and extremely high value if there is even any slight shred of truth to this. Everybody is on the market for the right deal. A 25 year-old RFA to-be who is a 70 point player in secondary ice time (there's a lot of reason to think with higher usage you are looking at a guy with considerably more upside than that) and has elite skill and some positional versatility is going to be on every team's radar...rebuilding, retooling or contending.

Back up the Brinks truck if you want him...suffice to say as well that Carolina wouldn't be looking for any expensive or short-term adds either (or at least not that alone)....considering how integral he is to the team and that the only logical reason to deal him is to make future cap flexibility more attainable.

What do you mean how?
How does that make sense? Carolina would likely be moving on from Necas because of his contract ask, for something more cost controlled. Buch is older, UFA after next year, and also looking to cash in at 30 Y/o. Seems like you'd rather pay the guy you know than the guy you don't.

Getting a pretty significant upgrade at a good value cap hit to actually push for a run in the next 2 years. If they are moving Necas, it's because they are finally pushing for upgrades.

If it's true then he's asking for a ton of money. Still tho, he's a good player but i dunno how much it's worth trading for him/giving up assets + signing him for big $.
