Notre Dame scored with 20 seconds left in the game. So the series is tied 1-1 and will have a Game 3 tomorrow to decide who advances.

Harris/Struble and NU win the Hockey East regular season title for the 1st time ever and they did it by winning 1-0 with a goal in the final 10 seconds of the 3rd period.

NU and BU get a 1st round bye, the HE playoffs changed the format to a stupid, everyone makes it but it's single elimination. The playoffs start on the 9th, NU will face the lowest winning team from the games on the 9th. BU will face the 4 seed which I believe is UConn although I have to check tie breaks as it was really tight between BU, UConn and Merrimack. I can't believe BU just lost 8-1 to the 51st ranked team in the NCAA.

If Wisconsin lose tomorrow then Gorniak's NCAA career is over (unless they do the covid rule again but I don't think they will)

If Ohio St loses tomorrow their season is likely over. They are currently in a spot for the NCAA tournament but losing to Penn St in the 1st round would push them out.

UMD with the loss will have to start the playoffs on the road I believe.

If Denver holds on, with that North Dakota loss, they will be tied for 1st place and the NCHC regular season title. Not sure who holds the tie breaker

Question regarding Denver and Northeastern. Having finished 1st in their respective conference standings, even if they get eliminated from their conference tournaments, do they still go to the Regionals?

no, you only get auto bids for winning your conferences playoffs. Now Denver due to being ranked so high, they are pretty much a lock no matter what happens. NU we'll see what the new pairwise rankings are as they were on the bubble just inside so if they lose on Saturday night I would think their season is over but I will need to see the pairwise to say and it can be complicated with bubble teams.

For now you can likely count on both Stapley and Pitlick to play in the NCAA tournament because their teams are ranked so high they are all but locks. Biondi (11th), Harris/Struble (14th), Dobes (15th), Tuch (16th) are all on the bubble per the last pairwise.

Farrell's team at 22nd would most likely need to win the ECAC title to make it. Gorniak's team at 34th can only make it if they win the Big 10 championship.

Wisconsin - 2
Notre Dame - 4

- Jack Gorniak with 1 assist / 2 SOG / 2 PIM
Notre Dame wins the series 2-1

Jack Gorniak's collegiate career is over (unless as @montreal has mentioned that maybe due to COVID, they might let players play a 5th year).

Gorniak finishes the year with 15 pts (5G, 10A) in 37 GP.

Dobes' season is over.

Northern Michigan wins the series 2-1

Henrikson ends the year with 5 assists in 35 games.

I know you're all torn not seeing Henrikson's year continue.

Friday is Harvard vs RPI though I'm guessing Farrell won't be back for this series.

DU gets Miami, DU should crush them

UMD gets SCSU, that should be a real good series. UMD both good teams, UMD is deep and knows how to win in the playoffs/NCAA tournament. should be very interesting.

Sat you get the above games plus BU vs UConn which I would guess BU takes it as they have been pretty good in the 2nd half and UConn doesn't have a lot of experience at winning.

Harris/Struble vs the worst team from Wed night winners

Pitlick's team should beat Penn St

was reading this article on the pairwise, remember i said it's tricky so here's some info,

That has placed the Buckeyes is a precarious situation. Ohio State has no more games before Selection Sunday and must sit in wait squarely on the PairWise bubble at 15th.

It wasn’t too long ago – February 7 according to my notes, that Ohio State was greater than 99 percent to make the NCAA field. Now the Buckeyes chances are less than 40 percent.

That’s got to be the toughest position for a team to be in: knowing that you still have an outside chance to make the tournament, but having to keep practicing. Every time you hit the ice, you’re remembering what put you in that position.

Still, there are scenarios that will get the Buckeyes in, and they’ll want to root for teams above them in the PairWise to win so as not to see the cutoff line move above them. There will be a lot of fans watching the PairWise as final scores come in when conference championships are decided on March 19 as decimal points determine whether it’s postseason or golf season.

so we would need Minnesota to beat Penn State for 1.

tomorrow starts the Hockey East tournament but those games mean nothing for now other then to see who Northeastern will face on Saturday.

others teams that we need to lose, Michigan Tech and Clarkson as well as Providence, UConn, Merrimack, UNO and BC.
