Want and what he gets will be vastly different. 7.5 x six if he’s lucky. But more likely only five years. He’s a number two centre.

9M is way too much IMO but I could still see him firing his agent and signing a year deal somewhere just like Klingberg.

Interesting: Good playoffs run. Great regular season. Good intangibles. Probably good will in terms of market place competition shared amongst a number of clubs...And it's August and he's holding out for 9M as a 32 year (In Oct.)...IF true, this is poor counsel.

Edit: Nazem: See John Klingberg.

If a bottom feeder looking to add high draft picks (Habs lets say) signed Kadri to a one year 9 mil deal, what could they get at the 2023 TDL for him with 50% retention? Could they get a late first?

They probably could but would Kadri be interested in going to a bottom feeder?

But IF he hasn't got a handshake deal with Lou, then it's looking bleak for him to get a long term deal, the further this drags on. A 1, 2 or 3 year deal is looking more likely by the day with whatever team has the space.

GMs are paying their top RFAs and not shelling out big money to UFAs (like they used to at least). It's a major course correction and given age curves an appropriate one.
