Not even sure who can offer him 6m AAV anymore, especially if the cost to unload salary is prohibitively high (see: Bjorkstrand deal). I guess Colorado could do 6m x 1 and then try and trade Compher/E. Johnson? He seems to have no real options anymore.

Interesting: Good playoffs run. Great regular season. Good intangibles. Probably good will in terms of market place competition shared amongst a number of clubs...And it's August and he's holding out for 9M as a 32 year (In Oct.)...IF true, this is poor counsel.

They probably could but would Kadri be interested in going to a bottom feeder?

But IF he hasn't got a handshake deal with Lou, then it's looking bleak for him to get a long term deal, the further this drags on. A 1, 2 or 3 year deal is looking more likely by the day with whatever team has the space.

GMs are paying their top RFAs and not shelling out big money to UFAs (like they used to at least). It's a major course correction and given age curves an appropriate one.
