That's right up my alley,shame it's not a tad later as was intending to visit Montreal to see the playoffs,if they indeed make them that is. Are there any other noteworthy shows happening during the playoffs? Is it possible to ski in the month of April?

You guessed correctly Although, I didn't mind their pop songs era, it was their choice to go forward with that. Only the Abacab album I can't stand.

Bill Evans is your best friend then, if you're looking old school. He basically invented the whole piano oriented jazz genre. Moon beams is a favorite of mine, FYI

Yeah Dave Brubeck is another can't miss guy in that genre. Both white dudes who had style and were all around cool cats Time out is my favorite out of his stuff, incidently. You can't go wrong.

I’m also into music by Stan Getz! Just ordered a Getz-Evans duo album. Can’t wait to listen to it!

I tried the big Bebop or Hard bebop jazz musicians but it’s not my type, TBH. I love cool jazz and also SOME swing jazz. Mostly instrumental…unless it’s Frank. Then I love! Lol I do like Krall too but it needs to be in a specific setting.

Before covid, I knew NOTHING about jazz. Then I bought a turntable and after that, went nutso! My vacation money went all out on vinyl. FML hahahaha!

Never saw her in Nanaimo, but I did hear her in Montreal during the Jazz fest. Good supper music with a date.
