That's a good price for a pending UFA. That second will be more like an early third round, but those are good depth pieces going back. Rychel and Vailev are always talked about when talking about the Leafs' depth.

Pretty solid forward core. Not in love with moving another 2nd for a rental 4C though. Hopefully they make a move for a quality defender or plan on re-signing Pleks.

How good is valiev

Rychel is ok

valiev is a safe bottom pairing caliber guy with not a whole lot of upside. Definitely not a bad player though

Rychel is an AHLer, Valiev maybe an NHLer in the future as a depth D kind of like Joe Morrow.

The second round pick is what is valuable in this trade and the Leafs gave their own second round pick not SJ's.
