Basically an Emelin replacement at almost the same salary.

At least it's not Girardi

I guess that's a decent salary.

Still, kinda meh about signing him. Just glad it's not for something stupid like 6 million per.

Not that I don't like him... but he's not as good as people think and if this means we definately not keeping Markov.. this is an huge mistake. Should have simply give 2 year @ 6m for Markov who's still haven't regressed. We will sure miss firepower from the backend.

Does anyone here actually watch any hockey or just make opinions based on stat watching 😂

Alzner is a solid D. He won't rush the puck up the ice but we need stability back there also, and he brings plenty of it. Wouldnt be surprised to see him eat minutes with Weber and be the stay at home while Weber makes the outlet pass.

If he replaces Emelin and we sign Markov, it's a good move at a lower cap and term that I expected for Alzner.

If it's only Alzner without a PP specialist, I'm a little disappointed.

So far so good since Markov is still out there.

So the Habs have been struggling to create offense for god knows how long, and we sign yet another piece that'll be unable to generate anything on his own, while also potentially losing Markov.

Guess, we'll beat everyone 1-0 on our way to the cup next year.
