nice, whole contract can be buried if needed

But if he keeps his production up he'll be a valuable piece for a contender, or he will fit nicely as a spark plug in MTL bottom 6.

14 goals in 38 NHL games. He carried Montreal's offense for a couple weeks during one stretch.

He certainly earned it with his late season play. Not sure where he fits in the medium to long term, but he deserves this deal.

RHP is in the molds of the Jonathan Marchessault and Yanni Gourde's. Small players constantly underrated due to size but hard workers that performed in every league they played.

Habs need to play him with big line mates and will profit

Great signing!

He's obviously not a lock for the NHL yet but he showed great things last season AND he brings a ton of energy.

This is a defining season for him.

Dach and Anderson enjoyed playing with him last season. They should play then together once again this year. Hopefully guys like Hoffman and Armia will be gone before next October. Too bad they let Belzile and Richard go on the UFA market.

Absolutely fantastic signing. The guy has put up points everywhere that he has played. He was a later draft pick (7th round) because of his size. He has 100% earned a spot on the team and he could very well be a half point per game player making just over minimum salary.

He's one of those players that is undersized with oversized heart and desire. If the guys was 6'4", he would be a terror.

Are growth hormones legal?

Don’t think you’ll have to worry about burying this guys contract. Absolute buzz saw even if his goal scoring dips.

Withe the arrival of Newhook and the re-signing of Monahan, I don't see much room for RHP on the top six anymore. Slaf will be back too. And the team is still loaded with lots of expensive dead wood. Hopefully he's gonna play as a regular on the bottom six as LW or RW.
