Yeah Marcherssault or Stamkos would make sense on 3 years deal. Don't want long term deals for any kind of player.

He's just saying that because he doesn't want to have to defend against Lane Hutson again. Two games was enough for him.

Great call , would have loved to have perron on the team during those years , even now if he only wants a 2-3 y deal

He's happy in Detroit, his kids are well-adjusted but his daughter often reminds him of how much she's disappointed about leaving St-Louis and he doesn't look forward to going through that again.

I think he's delusional if he thinks he's getting 3+ years.

I would be open to UFA class. Habs have around 7 million to play with. If they go Trade route say good bye to Jets pick and another good asset. Likely Flames pick.

Habs need a top 6 forward to insulate Suzuki, Slaf and Caufield. even if buys a couple years until Catton is ready. Marchessault on 3 year deal be good. He's 40 goals, has a ring, character guy, good mix with our youth. Stamkos is too high end doubt he signs here. DeBrusk is good money player, he be good fit. Adds 25 goals with size and speed.

I think he'd fit better than he would have 4-5 years ago. There's actually key guys to support now. At the same time, I'm not sure how much he has left. He's been pretty smart about picking his spots so he always ends up with top 6 minutes and some PP time. He did have 12 point in 11 games to end the season during a playoff race when you want guys to step up. Never really been complained about his career. Would be worth a one-year gamble.

Prefer max two years as I don't want anyone blocking the young guys or turning into a Marleau situation where their final year needs to be bought out

Crazy that when it comes to production per dollar, as well as overall package, based on this past season, Anderson's contract is worse that Gallgher's.

I think it would be a terrible signature personally. We need to move forward with players in the beginning of their prime we have plenty of vets already.

To trade the Jets and Flames pick at the same time you would need a pretty solid return. Like a guy who was drafted top 10ish and still project favorably. I would not trade that unless the return is a guy like Lundell.

I doubt I would give up those 2 picks for Lundell. He's not even on my radar. I'd like to get as much skill I can in my top 6.
