In typical cowardly Manfred fashion, he does it right in the middle of the nfl draft as a Friday news dump.

Yet Ozuna gets to play like he didn’t do worse. This league is becoming a f***ing joke. Don’t sleep with women, mlb players. Beat the shit out of them instead.

If this wasn't Trevor Bauer I'd say it's a stupid-ass overreach that's just gonna get significantly reduced on appeal anyway (especially in comparison to the Ozuna suspension). But since it's Bauer, he and baseball deserve each other...let them drag each other through the mud.

That's not fair that his accrued administrative leave time doesn't count for the suspension. It's pretty obvious that Manfred has a vendetta against Bauer now.

Would imagine that MLB knows that this could get reduced on appeal. I also wonder too if MLB offered Bauer a shorter suspension on the condition that he not appeal and he rejected.

Will also be interesting what role MLBPA plays in this. You could say this length is meant to be precedent setting and a recognition that MLB does not tolerate domestic violence. You could also say it’s grossly disproportionate to other domestic violence suspensions where there was more obvious criminal liability for the player.

Not fair to compare this to Ozuna when the evidence came out and the situation was way more tame than initially claimed by the cops (shocker, cops lie)

Bauer did this to himself. He continually kept making noise about how innocent he was, trying to sue people on completely shaky ground and presumably refused to cooperate with the MLB at every turn. Drawing attention to it likely handed the MLB an axe to grind. Ozuna also cooperated with the league if memory serves.

He's scum. Multiple allegations of sexual assault/misconduct between his time in Ohio and the one in Cali. He was all in on trashing his victims and then he started demanding confidentiality. He might not have been found criminally guilty on the last one, but something obviously happened.

Normal, innocent people don't get accused of sexual misdeeds that many times. And that's probably the logic the MLB is operating under.

Good riddance. I also don't think the MLB drops this hammer without being sure this sticks. Ending one's career (call it what it is) via legal means has to be done to the point it's air tight because it could easily explode in the league's face.

This is nonsense and his lawyer will have plenty of ammunition to fight it on this basis alone

Why is Ozuna not banned for 2 years?

Its complete BS. Bauer hasn't even been criminally convicted. he would have been suspended less games for using steroids.

The length is ridiculous as is but to not count all the games hes been out? Wtf is that Manclown.

What Ozuna got was what the rich and famous almost always get which is a sweetheart deal

“The defendant has completed the Fulton County District Attorney’s diversion program. I am going to walk over an order to you for the nolle prose,” Fulton County assistant district attorney Ramona Toole told the judge during Thursday’s hearing.

Ozuna had to complete 200 hours of community service, an anger management program and a 24-week family violence intervention program.

But sure "Tame"

I get it you hate Bauer and he does seem like a douchebag but this punishment is nonsense and there is no arguing that fact

This is horrible. Give him time served, plus maybe another slap on the wrist and move on. Manfred is joke and probably the worst sports commissioner in my lifetime. 2 years when he was acquitted?!?! And it doesn't even include time served?? Sounds more personal than anything.

But Ozuna only got time served + 20 games. LOL.
