Marner is the better player, overall.

Aho scores a few more goals, but Marner will get you more points and controls the entire game most nights. Electric player, who keeps other teams on their heels as they fear what magic trick he'll perform next.

Aho is literally carrying the Hurricanes, Marner is behind the HUGE shadow of Matthews in a rather comfortably role. Aho is way, way better AINEC.

    I fixed my spelling mistake.

    And Marner still wins.

Went with Aho, Aho is already the best player in his team, a really really smart player with no big weaknesses to his game.

Marner is a skilled and creative player too and has a great future ahead of him but to me Sebastian is better.

I seriously think Magic truck would be a great nickname. Maybe for Barkov though, like the magic man Datsyuk but built like a truck.

Aho is better despite Marner having more points than him in both years they've played in the NHL.

Only on HF and it wouldn't even be that bad if the posters on here didn't whine about "muh Leafs bias" when this website is far more populated with Leaf haters than Leafs homers.

Carrying them to what exactly? A lottery pick?

Marner has been carrying the Leafs for the past 2 months (you'd know if you weren't talking out of your ass).

Matthews has also been hurt quite a bit this year FYI.

Despite Marner being ice cold for so long, he still has more points.

Right, it's Marner's fault that Carolina doesn't know how to draft or sign good forwards.

What kind of logic is this? Aho doesn't even have more points despite playing 2 more minutes per game this year and despite him missing 5 more games than Mitch, he has still played 50 more minutes (so nearly an entire game). He also gets 40 more seconds of PP time per game and has played nearly 30 more minutes on the PP than Mitch this year.

He also had the worse rookie year, so there's no argument to be had there.

There is no actual argument to be made for him being better, Marner was drafted higher and has performed at a higher level at every step of the way.

Aho is good, but Marner is great. Leaf hate is strong on this site.

Marner has carried the team this year offensively, but mostly because Matthews has been hurt. He's been on fire since the start of the new year

So now that we are talking about Marner suddenly total points is the most important thing? I can't say I'm surprised.

Aho looking like a pretty insane draft steal and really good player, but... Homer vote Marner.

Can’t go wrong with either though.

No, if you care to read the thread, his electric style of play, his possession stats, his better production with less ice time all factor into it, too. AND the more points. ;)

You would think that creating more offense would lead to more points, especially when he gets more TOI and more PP time.

    Funny how that works innit?

Carrying the Hurricanes where exactly? Because Marner has nearly led the NHL in points since January on the 3rd in the Conference Leafs, while Matthews is injured. Aho is a nice player, don't get me wrong, but he's no Marner.

Some pretty absurd opinions in this thread lol.

Both excellent young players, most tangible evidence gives the edge to Marner.

Why is this even a poll? Aho hasn't played since 3/2. He's not even better than Brandon Davidson, much less Mitch Marner :sarcasm:
