Am I the only one who thought his parents lived in Fort McMurray

Didn't know Marner grew up in Maple/Vaughan. I always thought he was from Markham because that's what Wikipedia says.

Pretty sure he is from bomanville (east of oshawa) and then moved to markham?

Totally thought that for a second, thinking . . . "what the hey, I didn't know his parents were from out west, I wonder what brought him out here to Ontario" etc etc. The McMurray fires are top of the news (and in my current thoughts) so it was the first assumption.

Was a natural first thought, even knowing that he was an Ontario GTA kid.

This is what I thought too.
The City TV clip with the 4 years old MM, had him playing for a Clarington team, and his father speaks kindly about the municipality to this day.

He may have lived in bowmanville for a while. I know he lived in Whitby for at least a few years...until he was in grade 7... Just before he started grade 8 his family moved (I think to Markham) and he went to private school there.
