Given the goalie pipeline, they're almost better drafting (or signing older UFA) - Veini Vehviläinen had a solid year last year and would provide Kaapo competition to keep him honest.

That would be interesting. Finland's goalie duo from 2016 WJC, both at Wild? To add, both are also tremendously talented and Veini has improved lately. Probably not going to happen, but... I wouldn't say no.

Especially considering that goalies develop slower (and higher volatility in their ultimate development), it actually does make sense to give Veini a shot. A team like Vancouver has their pipeline full (Dipietro / Demko), but with Minny, Chicago or some other teams, they should be giving these established (at least in either SHL, KHL or Liiga) players a shot.
