Nice to see he finally found a home.

Look like he's cut down on the stupid penalties too. Dude had 15 minors in 19 games with the Flyers lol

He’s probably going to be available for Seattle but the Kraken will most likely have a much better player available to choose in Dumba.

The expansion draft should not cause teams to have paralysis when it comes to making good moves they would normally make out of fear of what is going to happen. The worst thing for a franchise to do is to put a halt on addressing their plans or to liquidate assets in order to protect other assets.

This guy hates the Avs, which bodes well for MN, especially at this price.

Worth every penny.

Low maintenance 30-40 point 3rd liner. For under 2 million? Smart move

This is a great signing.
He is not a player you want to trade for but he for sure is a player you want to keep.

how is he a 30-40 point player

20-30
The difference between 20-30 point Hartman and 30-40 point Hartman is mostly whether he's getting top-9 and powerplay minutes (like this year) or 4th line minutes (like the last year). The fact that he can play center and wing throughout the lineup like that is part of what makes him so nice to have around.

Fantastic deal for the Wild. Most commentators seems to constantly mix up Hartman and Zuccarello.

Solid bottom 6er at that price. As others have mentioned he probably wanted some stability and not having to move around.

Really solid value. Hard to go wrong with that price on a nice, versatile no fuss middle-6 type. And the term is short enough, you shouldn't really have to worry about having extended too far beyond the point where his body should be able to hold up playing the way he does. Can't think of many teams that wouldn't be plenty happy with a player like Hartman at that price. But obviously, this was a case where he didn't want to end up with yet another team. So good for him, taking a bit less to get a little bit of stability to his situation and not have to move around again.

Only problem for him, if he gets exposed in the ED, he may end up in Seattle. So he may regret he signed early and team-friendly. Although I don't think players should be so afraid of Seattle, after how Vegas came out right away.

Lots of guys on our exposure list that will likely be above him (Dumba, Soucy, Greenway/Foligno, Talbot/Kahkonen). He should feel pretty secure here.

Even if he did get picked by Seattle, he’s on that team for 3 years.
