Lindros led the league in PPG exactly one time

This is not a contest.

Lindros did finish third behind Lemieux and Jagr, playing on the same team, in 1996 and then second behind only Lemieux in 1997. I still take McDavid here but in terms of impact when Lindros was at his best they are in the same ballpark.

And how many MORE Art Ross trophies does McDavid have to win before they're not in the same "ballpark"?

With the competition he is facing, three more, I don’t give a ****.

There is no Lemieux or Jagr he is playing against.

Kucherov is more injured than anything.

The trophies argument is for losers anyway.

He'd need a full season or two like his 2021 season. Winning another Art Ross by 8 points or so is not something that puts him in another ballpark from Lindros. Neither does your poorly selected critique that punishes Lindros for playing in the same league as prime Lemieux.

If they're both 100% healthy probably Lindros. I don't think the gap in offense in favor of Mcdavid makes up for Lindros' advantage everywhere else.

I think if both players were available at the same time when Lindros was drafted it would have been very hard to not select Lindros. but if its Lindros of todays NHL then I think you take McDavid

Lindros looked like the total package and imo better than McDavid for that time in the NHL
If tjey where in the same draft, the player with the most intruging upside would be drafted. And that always means offensive talent, IQ , vision.

Any year, the draft would go down 1 McDavid 2 Lindros.

Exception could be just the Lindros draft 91 - 96. Any other draft Im sure McDavid would go first

Lindros would probably get converted to the wing if he was playing in the NHL today.

In an NHL that players like MacKinnon and McDavid are the cream of the crop, players from Lindros' era that would thrive the most would be the Russian trio of Molginy, Bure and Federov.

If they're both 100% healthy probably Lindros. I don't think the gap in offense in favor of Mcdavid makes up for Lindros' advantage everywhere else.
McDavid's hockey IQ both offensive and defensively and speed make a huge difference.
Lindros would end up stuck on the wing in 2022.

Lindros never reached a level of McDavid 20-21 or McDavid playoffs 22.

Lindros never had as good of a full season as McDavid 2018 or 2022.

Lindros never had as good of a 5 season stretch as McDavid is in.

Lindros was a unique beast. People remember him far too much for the concussions. At his best, you were not going to get the better of him physically. He carried an intimidation factor that very few players ever have, and he followed through by laying waste to players who tried to stand up to him. While also beating them on the scoreboard.

That said, McDavid is an entire tier higher offensively and his speed completely changes the game. The fact that he never gets injured tells you how hard it is to track him. I would take him.

Lindros would essentially be in the Evander Kane class in todays NHL, with much more physicality and power forward net drive.

What? No. Lindros was a much, much better overall player than Kane. You’re really underselling the amount of speed and skill he brought to that power forward position. He was the guy leading rushes through the neutral zone, and a not insignificant breakaway threat.

I know it’s a bad stylistic comparison, but the better comparable would be a younger Ovechkin. Yes he had that Kane-like power game with big explosive hits, but he was also an extremely skilled puck handler with an accurate shot off the rush. Kane is one-dimensional compared to this class of player.
