I just saw a very surprising stat. Zooks leads all NYR forwards in blocked shots with 55. I had no idea. Fast is second at 48 and JT Miller is third at 36.

Zooks has more blocks than Yandle (46). Maybe that is the reason AV does not ever play Yandle on the PK?

The stat I referred to is blocks not hits. Most defensemen have a large number of blocked shots. I'm a Yandle fan. I'd like him on the PK but there has to be a reason AV refuses to put him on the PK.

I've stopped looking for logical reasons why AV does anything. Logic dictates that Yandle should play more. Logic dictates that McI should play period (he doesn't unless there are injuries). Logic dictates that Tanner Glass should not get a spot in the Rangers lineup. And so on..

Some of the line combinations are also incomprehensible. But i digress, this is not the AV thread

Also i agree with you, but stats showing he has few hits does not equal him being good at poke checking.

He didn't play on the PK in Arizona either. So it's not an AV thing, it's a Yandle thing.

Why would you want him on the PK at the expense of EV or PP minutes? He's not going to just play on the PK and then get an extra 3 minutes/game because of that.

He has good reach I would really enjoy to try Yandle on PK as well - try anything to hopefully improve it.
I really hope Zuci wake up in the last period to contribute so we win this important road game - at least 1 pts.

Thanks for the link. Its a miracle he is okay. I think many Ranger fans including myself sometimes take for granted how well he has come back this season. He deserves huge huge huge props in my opinion.

Very poor game from him against Penguins. His fault the Pens go up 2-1, and pretty much invisible offensively.

Mats still struggling with effects from his brain contusion. Among other things he messes up words, he toe picks more, both when walking and skating, and he feels a numbness in his right leg.
