the funny thing is, it really sounds like Marlies-Management would be okay with not winning the Calder, as long as these guys were developing amazingly. which is kinda funny. :)

let's goooo babies!

Is this just my bias or is that an intense line up?

Looks like another contending year for the boys.

It should be a top AHL team. A lot of skill and depth.

It could be a little slow out of the gate with a lot of new faces for the most part but for the most part, it should be a great year for the Marlies.

That's a Calder favourite lineup. Brown, Leipsic, Panik, Brennan, Frattin and Nylander are legitimate AHL allstars.

I actually COMPLETELY forgot about Leipsic in my lines when I posted them in the other thread.

Man, it's going to be tough to give all these guys minutes.

Prospects always cannibalize each other and only the strong survive.

There is not enough ice-time to develop everyone, and the players at the top of the depth chart and roster get the prime opportunity to develop and advance, while those at the bottom get phased out slowly.

The Grabner 5 for 1 deal intentionally thinned the heard and opened Marlies roster spots.

As far as NHL impact goes Burke's looks just as good if not better.

Reimer > Bibeau
Gunnarsson > Loov/Percy/Valiev
Nylander > Tlusty > Bozak = Brown/Kapanen > Stalberg

The other players are irrelevant as they will never amount to anything in the NHL.

But this year's Marlies do have way better depth than Burke's, so as an AHL team they'll be better.

Don't think Brown breaks 50 points ever? I mean not exactly in his favor either, has a long way to go to do that but Bozak couldn't even do that with Kessel and JVR on his wing and lots of PP time.

Bozak had 20 points in 32 games in the AHL when he was 23 years old. Browns already destroyed that pace at 21 years old. Kapanen likely will too, if his brief stint in Pittsburgh's AHL team is any indication.

Would be better if Harrington was in that lineup where he belongs.
