Mackinnon is playing like hes Neo in the Matrix. The game probably looks 10x slower for him whereas it looks like the f***in Indy 500 for noted pendejo Ryan Johansen.

I think Johansen's brain is finesh but his legs think they are moving like Indy 500 but in reality he is skating in a mud field.

Nathan MacKinnon (1-1—2) factored on two of his team’s four goals to extend his season-opening home point streak to 26 games and help the Avalanche earn their 16th comeback win of the season – only the Stars (18), Devils (18) and Rangers (18) have more. In the process, Colorado (34-18-4, 72 points) overtook idle Winnipeg (33-14-5, 71 points) for second place in the Central Division standings.

* MacKinnon boosted his 2023-24 totals to 33-58—91 (56 GP) and tied Peter Stastny (56 GP in 1987-88, 1985-86 & 1982-83) for the third-fewest games by an Avalanche/Nordiques player to reach the mark in a season. The only skaters to hit the mark faster: Stastny (54 GP) in 1981-82 and Michel Goulet (55 GP) in 1983-84.

MacKINNON HAS 1-1—2 TO RECORD SECOND STRAIGHT 100-POINT SEASON
Nathan MacKinnon
(36-64—100 in 61 GP) had a goal and an assist to record his second straight 100-point season and move closer to Art Ross Trophy race leader Nikita Kucherov (38-66—104 in 61 GP), who had one assist Thursday.

* MacKinnon became the first player in Avalanche team history (since 1995-96) and fourth in franchise history with 100 points in two or more consecutive campaigns, following Peter Stastny (6 from 1980-81–1985-86), Michel Goulet (2 from 1982-83–1983-84) and Joe Sakic (2 from 1989-90–1990-91) who all achieved the feat with Quebec. MacKinnon became the fifth player with multiple triple-digit campaigns at any point with the club, joining Stastny (7), Sakic (6), Goulet (4) and Peter Forsberg (2).

OFFENSIVE OUTBURSTS GUIDE OILERS AND KINGS TO HIGH-SCORING WINS
Connor McDavid
(1-1—2), Leon Draisaitl (0-3—3), Phillip Danault (3-0—3) and Kevin Fiala (1-2—3) led the way in offensive outbursts for a pair of Pacific Division clubs as the second-seeded Oilers (37-20-2, 76 points) and Kings (31-19-10, 72 points) captured pivotal victories in the Western Conference playoff race.

* McDavid joined Nathan MacKinnon – who owns an active 29-game stretch – as the second player with a streak of at least 25 games this season. The 2023-24 campaign is just the fourth in NHL history to feature multiple players achieve the feat following 1989-90 (Brett Hull & Mario Lemieux, both w/ 26 GP), 1981-82 (Bryan Trottier: 31 GP & Wayne Gretzky: 25 GP) and 1979-80 (Gretzky: 28 GP & Guy Lafleur: 27 GP).

McJesus sees MacK brewing some stupid home points streak and says, "nah, I'm gonna take that one too".

MACKINNON KEEPS THE STREAK AT BALL ARENA ALIVE
Nathan MacKinnon
(2-2—4) extended his home point streak to 30 games and overtook Nikita Kucherov in the Art Ross Trophy race, while Cale Makar (1-1—2) climbed atop the only franchise scoring category among blueliners he was not leading outright as the Avalanche (38-20-5, 81 points) blanked the Blackhawks and moved within two points of the idle Stars (37-17-9, 83 points) for second place in the Central Division.

* MacKinnon, who already holds the franchise record for longest home point streak, improved his totals at Ball Arena this season to 25-40—65 (30 GP) which is the most home points among all players. He’s on pace to finish with 88 points on home ice, which would by far be a single-season record for the Avalanche/Nordiques franchise – Peter Stastny currently holds the mark (28-47—75 in 40 GP in 1981-82 w/ QUE).

* MacKinnon (39-66—105 in 63 GP), whose overall point streak hit double digits for the third time this season, intensified the Art Ross Trophy race as he tied Nikita Kucherov (38-67—105 in 62 GP) for the League lead in points. The last time MacKinnon led the NHL in scoring (tied or outright) was Feb. 6.
