2016 WHL Bantam Draft 90th overall (Calgary Hitmen)

2015-2016 USHS 10ga-18g+7=25pts 18pim

2016-2017 T1EHL 32ga-8g+13=21pts 34pim
2017-2018 T1EHL 28ga-19g+19a=38pts 38pim

Now Jackson is not on any list,i think, nor have i ever heard anyone
who's a hockey expert talk about him,but you never know about these
legendary hockey players kids, some pan out most won't,
maybe Scotty's kid might,right?

At the moment no one seem to be interested about him,
i think. He was drafted by the Hitmen, but i dunno,..has anyone who
follows Hitmen heard anything about him? or anyone seen him play?

Is he good? does he have a future in hockey, bright one.

Just thought this kid deserved a thread to this HFProspects place.

Tons of other players been put here, why not Jackson Niedermayer :)

PS. Hopefully there's interest enough around here for him
so that this thread won't die any time soon.

Unrelated but apparently Joe Nieuwendyk has a son named Jackson too and he's only a year younger than Niedermayer's son and both are playing in the same league:

He is a decent player not a superstar like his old man. I think he might end up coming to the WHL though. Calgary could be very good in a year or two

Not to bad. 5th leading scorer in his league, 3rd on his team. His team appears to be pretty stacked though. Would be cool if he came to Calgary.

I'm curious as to how he's born in California. Scott didn't play in Anaheim until 2005. Did his pregnant wife follow him on the road?

It says both were born in OC area in California as a matter of fact, (Jackson&Tim)
they both happens to play for Anaheim jr. Ducks....connection maybe?

I highly doubt neither were actually born in California.

Scotty lived (still lives) in Newport beach while playing for the Ducks,Jackson was 4 at the time
Todd lived in Tustin while playing for the Ducks,Tim was 4 at the time.

Jackson Niedermayer played 2 games in 1 day (How?)
- does anyone know do they even play 3 x 20 mins in this league?

1) Anaheim won 4-1, Niedermayer 1+2
2) Anaheim lost 6-0, Niedermayer 0+0

He has games 2 games left in the regular season (Sunday&Monday).

Anaheim won 7-1, Niedermayer scored 2 goals.

31 games; 22+20=42, 1 game left.
- rookie season; 32 games 8+13=21

Lots of improvement to last season.

----

This is interesting; in the T1EHL they actually play 3 x 17 minutes,instead of 3 x 20 minute games.
- only 32 game regular season,17 minute period's, Jackson's numbers looks good to me.

Playing two games in a day in this league isn't out of the ordinary. They're showcase games, they'll play early in the morning and then in the evening. Showcase T1EHL games I believe are all two 25 min halves.

Jackson is a decent player on a very good team. Josh Groll who leads their team in scoring is IMO a much more skilled player but doesn't have the size to be a big time pro prospect. Jackson should take the NCAA route as he's definitely not a shoe-in for pro hockey, but this league is very good and its top players typically go on to player high level NCAA hockey.
