Last one had over a 1,000 posts and there seem to be a lot of differing opinions on who should and shouldn't be in the line-up especially after we got some guys off IR. So it seemed like a good time to resurrect this thread.

This is what I think they should be:

JP - McDavid - Lucic
Maroon - RNH - Eberle
Cagg - Drai - Shlep
Pitlick - Letestu - Hendo/ Kassian

Poo - in the press box.

Probably something along the lines of

Lucic - McDavid - Puljujarvi
Maroon - Nuge - TBD/Slepyshev
Cagiulla/TDB - Draisailt - TBD/Cagiulla
Hendricks/Kassian - Letestu - Pitlick/Kassian

And the TBDs can be any of Jagr, Skinner, Gallagher, Belesky, Ryan, Nelson, Kulemin, etc.

This is what I would do for next game and beyond.

UP:
M.Fayne
J.Khaira

DOWN:
M.Benning
D.Caggiula

Once Pak is healthy, Jesse heads to the Bake as well.

LINEUP:
M.Lucic - C.McDavid - A.Slepyshev
T.Pitlick - R.N.Hopkins - J.Eberle
B.Pouliot - L.Draisaitl - J.Puljujarvi
P.Maroon - J.Khaira - Z.Kassian
M.Letestu - M.Hendricks

O.Klefbom - A.Larsson
A.Sekera - K.Russell
D.Nurse - E.Gryba
M.Fayne

C.Talbot
J.Gustavsson

Of course there is no way this happens...

Woodcroft is just realising this is what they should be doing on the powerplay NOW and not 15 games ago??

**** me with a cactus.

At least they're working on it.

If this doesn't get Slepy some PP time I'll be even more done with Woodcroft than I already am. He's quite easily the best righty at one timing the puck on the team and it should be blatantly obvious if they're working on it.

Whoever bolded doesnt get 5 hits a game sits out the next one for Pouliot.
Puljujarvi to the AHL til he finds a scoring touch

Where's the guy with the best shot in group? If they aren't going to consider using Puljujarvi in this, something he should be good at, maybe send him down.

i'd probably go

Lucic-McDavid-RNH
Maroon-Draisaitl-Kassian
Pouliot-Caggiula/(ebstrade)-Slepyshev
Lander-Letestu-Pitlick

I like this, though I might reverse Slepyshev and Kassian. They really need a defencive centre to round out this group. Hanzel would be a dream, but really any decent 2 way centre would work there.

This team needs to get RNH out of the shutdown role. Not because he's bad at it (though nothing better than "above average"), but because it's a waste of your second best playmaker's talents to use him in such a role. Get him with McDavid or Draisaitl, and move Pouliot or Eberle for a centre that can play the #3 spot. Perhaps Cagiula could be that guy...

He definitely could use the confidence booster to have that opportunity to score a few. I think he should be sent down myself, so who gets the call up?

Looks pretty good to me. I also don't mind the thought of Nuge and Drai switching. Theres still a player - I hope, in Nuge. He's smart enough to play with McDavid, I think. Could lead to some offence...

^^ realized how much I doubted myself...

The rookie right shot with a cannon isn't worthy of practicing one-timers but Mark ****ing Letestu is.

Well that's disappointing. I really like the player I see in Puljujarvi, but honestly I would like sent down if he's going to get much of an opportunity.

Pouliot's done nothing to warrant playing second line while Maroon and Puljujarvi are on the 4th or sitting.

The only thing that makes any semblance of sense is there could be a trade market for Pouliot. I know this trio clicked in the past, but for him to be up on the 2nd line while Maroon gets knocked down to the 4th when neither are deserving of the promotion or demotion is baffling. Trying to get all three going offensively I guess if my first theory is bunk.

I do wonder if JP is putting too much pressure on himself seeing how much success his pal, Laine, is having. He's overthinking things, gripping the stick to tight, *insert other hockey cliche here* causing him to struggle.

I also think a month or so in the A will do him wonders.

I think you could safely subtract all three of Pouliot, RNH and Eberle at this point and have a roster that gains +100 in the give a **** department:

Maroon-McDavid-Pulju
Lucic-Draisaitl-Pitlick
Slepyshev-Caggiula-Kassian
Hendricks-Letestu-Lander
Khaira

Klefbom-Larsson
Sekera-Russell
Davidson-Gryba
Nurse
Benning

How sad is it that $16M in salary can be removed so easily and most likely result in a morale IMPROVEMENT?
