This loss didn't have anything to do with Corsi. Bad giveaway by the normally reliable Gunnar and a one in a million fluke on Bernier.

I honestly can't imagine this team with everyone healthy, especially when Clarkson is back from suspension, can't effing wait!

So, the high-flying offense of Lupul and Kessel plus Bernier will be enough to make it to the playoffs despite a porous D and giving up almost 40 shots a game? Okay.

The stats fans who love to shove point totals from forwards and shots on goal from them discount the bad D and the shots the Leafs give up?

The flukey goal aside, the team is faltering in two aspects:
1) the defence is abysmal - they are not good at coverage and the team as a whole, is not very good defensively... maybe that is why guys like Lupul and Kessel get good shot totals and points but the team overall give up tons of shots?

2) they're a regular season team - they don't adjust or adapt to the playoffs.... the same failing followed them into the post-season. They blew a tire v.s. Boston. The Bruins just didn't play up to their potential but when they were desperate, they left the Leafs in the dust and delivered one of the most embarrassing 7 game losses in memory.

The Leafs need both Reimer and Bernier to be healthy or they're toast.

Carlyle knows the weaknesses I'm sure but whether much will change in that dept. remains to be seen. Go ahead and post Kessel's and Lupul's stats, who cares. They still are giving up almost 40 shots a game and usually, don't keep up offensively. If they get quality scoring chances and the goalie (whoever's in net) stands on their head, they might win. But, that's their story every game.

Aside from Game 1, the team that was trailing going into the third period is the team that registered more 3rd period shots and had more shots in the game. Yes, even those Leafs who apparently can never outshoot their opponents, outshot the Bruins in their Game 3 and Game 4 losses. Game 7 followed the same trend as the entire series with the exception that in Game 7, the trailing team actually pulled off the come from behind win.

Their story also includes a continuous loss of regular players in their line-up. Before you go all Miss Cleo on us, take into account that it's probably more concerning if they continue to play like this even with the likes of Clarkson and Kulemin back in the line-up. I don't particularly care about the quantity of shots against but if that's your cup of tea, just saying that it wouldn't kill you to wait until the team is icing a line up closer to what should be our actual line up.

Coughing up a 2 goal third period lead really sucks, but it's nice to know that both of our losses have been tight one-goal losses, and both game-losing goals were pretty BS goals.

So you're basing this off of 1 playoff where it was the first for many of our players?

How come so many of your posts come back and talk about Game 7 last spring? If you want to judge a team by 1 game, so be it.

If this team weren't built for playoffs, it would have folded in 4 (Vancouver) or 5 (Montreal) games. If anything, they took cup finalists to 7 games.

Everyone got valuable experience in that. If anything, this is a team built for playoffs. But why am I even discussing with a person whose only passion seems to be to talk negative about Leafs on Hf.

P.S.: Others can check this person's post history.

Sucks when anyone gets hurt. Get well soon, Reims.

Bad break. Just getting back into the goalie battle. Toronto has to be thankful they have two 1# right now. Hope it's not too bad. This is why the Leafs wanted to have 2 good goalies, because you never know what might happen. Let's hope Reims is okay though.

Doesn't have to be a big hit for it to hurt - Nobody is expecting to get hit by their own player.

We look like a team that can go deep into the playoffs. Just need our physical guys back, and we'd look a lot better. In fact, we didn't play that bad against Carolina considering injuries and lines that still need to be tinkered with.
