This "4th youngest team in the league' is a misconception, if you look at our players were mostly in our prime
JVR (23,young))-Bozak(27)-Kessel(26)
Lupul(31)-Kadri(23)-Raymond(27)
Kulemin(27)-Bolland(27)-Clarkson(29)
Mclaren(26)-Mcclement(30)-Orr(32)
Phaneuf(28)-Gunnar(27)
Gardiner(23)-Franson(26)
Fraser(27)-Ranger(29)
If you consider the prime years to be 27-32, then everyone except Kadri/JVR/Gardiner are in their primes, so realisticly speaking looking at our roster we have about a 5-7 year peak window before fading again (unless we add younger pieces along the way).
can't you even follow your own rules?
if "prime years are 27-32", like you say, then all of Kessell, Kadri, JVR, Gardiner, Franson, Rielly, Bernier, and Reimer have yet to enter their primes. That is over 1/3 of the team, all core young talent, that has yet to enter their "primes", according to you.
and then, of course, accoring to your rules, all of Bozak, Raymond, Kulemin, Bolland, Gunnar, and Fraser are just starting the first year of their "primes" this year.
So according to your rules, that's 2/3 of the team that hasn't entered their prime until the first two games of this season.
And then, of course, the remaning 1/3 of the team, according to your rules, is all in their primes right now, without even one player past his prime.
An extremely young team, like you've shown us.
and of course, the truth is that the team's "average age" actually is misleading in the opposite direction - because most of our oldest players are bottom of the roster players - McClement, Orr, Bodie, Ranger, Fraser - all bringing the average age of the team up.
