I see Wings adding a Center as a long-term solution.

Even with healthy Larkin, winger Christian Fischer has been playing as a regular center. That's not ideal.

lol Flames aren’t going to trade their 5 month old captain, that would be a total slap in the face of Mikael.

It's 2 weeks, why would they need to add a center for only 2 weeks? If they add someone it won't be because of this injury.
depending how long Larkin is actually out, currently March 18th, yes?
that's 7 games, you have lost 2 in a row, there is no way your GM takes that big
of an risk, this late of the season and does nothing, panic move?..
well.. you guys are atm on 1st wild card spot, but that can easily change
with a long losing streak.. only fool, wouldn't make a move

Avalanche
Coyotes
Golden Knights

Penguins

If he is out for just few more days longer, it could be 9 games, or 10.

Yzerman doesn't want a make a move, obviously, but he has to
do you honestly trust Compher as your 1C?, or Veleno for that matter.

better to prepare for the worst, instead hope for the best
then again.. sometimes you get lucky with wait and see

this could also be a early trade deadline deal opportunity for Yzerman
take the best possible player out of the market before anyone else.

Depth. Wings are going to miss him but have the guys to make up for it. 2 game losing streak but also 3rd or 4th? best record since the calendar flipped. Yzerman said pre season. If you can believe what any general manager says, I'd say its Yzerman . He doesn't say much so what he does is usually partially true. They won't do a major buy before they even make the playoffs unless that player fits long term. If they do a major trade I'd bet it's more quantity of B level assets over trading recent 1st round picks or future 1st round picks.

Berggren is a nice asset, he's produced at the NHL level and has alot of RFA years left. Add in some 2nds, 3rds and you can get a nice piece if needed.

Red Wings aren't trading valuable assets for a attempt to make the playoffs. They're better off selling roster players for picks/young assets.
They are in the wild card position 6 pts up on NYI--wings maybe buyers but Stevie Y has a plan and he is sticking to it.

If there’s anything Steve Yzerman has proven as a manager, it’s that he’ll trade anyone, if it’s in a deal he likes. You obviously don’t trade any of those 3 for an aging player, but a player like Mittlestadt, you’d likely think about.

Personally, I’d think about trading Kasper for him but not Danielson. I’d have to watch more of Mittlestadt’s play away from the puck. That said, very rarely does a 19 year old perform as Kasper is, in the AHL. Kasper is going to be a tenacious, pain for years to come. We’ll see if he can play C in the NHL. That’s the only question with him imo. Can he withstand it? Danielson? Pure C, very soon in the league. Both are way ahead of where Mittlestadt was at the same age.
That trade doesn't make any sense for Detroit, all the centers and center prospects are build from the same mold. Larkin, Compher, Copp, Ras, Veleno, Kasper, Danielson and Mittelstadt doesn't fit in that mold. And the second thing is that Detroit has spended lot of draft capital on more grittier players, thats the team identity what Yzerman is building. Perimeter players like Berggren are getting traded away.

3rd thing is that Wings are still one of the softest if not the most softest team in the league, Florida manhandled Detroit in the previous game and Ottawa has done that for years. Kasper is really physical and plays with a real edge, Wings need more of that and trading Kasper for perimeter player like Mittelstad would be idiotic. Just trading Kasper in general would be idiotic. Even if he doesn't make it as a center, then we get a very gritty top-6 winger.

And that just Detroit's POV, im struggling to understand why would Buffalo do this? What they need is quality veterans, not another young gun. Their team culture is trash, couple Stanley Cup winners would do wonders for them.

Good thing we won the 6 in a row prior to that or we might've been in some trouble

What was the point of listing:
Avalanche
Coyotes
Golden Knights
Sabres
Coyotes
Sabres
Penguins

That's a pretty f***in easy stretch of schedule considering our situation. Colorado and Vegas haven't been playing well and the other 3 teams aren't great. You act like it's daunting.
