1m too much. Good player but he's really a 3rd line center. Don't let the advanced stats fool you, he can't generate any offense.

He's one of the best shutdown center though. He chose money and can't blame him for it.

Oof that’s a pretty big misstep for the Kings, who up till this point had a very nice rebuild running. They already had a shutdown center to shelter their kids in Kopitar and they surely have at least 2 top 6 centers out of Vilardi, Turcotte, and Byfield.

Very soon Danault is going to be a 6 million dollar 3C/4C (who doesn’t bring offense) that’s signed long term.

In terms of fit there should have been a lot of teams more interested than the Kings

Strange decision considering the Kings have more C prospects than most of the league combined but Kopitar and Danault as 1 and 2 is nice.
