I like this move for Buffalo a lot. Getting a third for a soon to be UFA that wasn't going to sign.

This could also be a great deal for LA if they can convince him to sign and not walk via the NCAA loophole this summer.

Yea if he signs he could absolutely be a starter in this league. So good value in a vacuum for sure

He's a very good prospect. Should be AHL starter next year. Good size and good collegiate track record. Definite NHL starter potential. For whatever reason (Levi?) he didn't want to sign in Buffalo. Buffalo wasn't going to get any compensation if he walked, so a 3rd is better than nothing and a fair trade for his rights.

He's looked a little shaky this year, but no risk in LA giving him an ELC in a few weeks. He'll be "22" in the eyes of the CBA, so he could possibly sign a 2 year ELC that begins this year. Or the Kings could sign him to an AHL ATO with a 2 year ELC that kicks in 2023-24.
