Apparently this is even a discussion so I’m posting it here. Who is the better hockey player right now and who has a higher ceiling? Alexis Lafreniere or Marco Rossi?
But apparently rightTheir underlying numbers are fairly close for this year. Laf with slightly higher CF% and SF%. Rossi with slightly higher GF% and xGF%. Laf with a much higher offensive zone start percentage (78% vs 65%).
Shout out to the OP for being extremely petty.
The underlying metrics don't say either is much better than the other. At this point, you're just getting votes based on name recognition. Congratulations, I guess. But apparently right

Now but I also wanted to discuss ceiling, but we’re voting now. You're asking two different questions though. So are we voting based on now or their ceiling?
"Whichever one gets you to vote Laf."You're asking two different questions though. So are we voting based on now or their ceiling?
But Rossi is a rookie!14 less points and 5 less goals despite Rossi having a higher shooting percentage and 60+ more minutes on the powerplay.
The answer to both of these questions are Laf anyway"Whichever one gets you to vote Laf."
- The OP (probably)
Ehh, you don't know that. Rossi's trajectory is pretty solidly upwards and he's already a pretty solidy defensive center. I'd just like to see him not be wasted with wingers like Zucc/Johansson. Give him some players that can actually maintain offensive pressure, not soft turnover prone wingers. The answer to both of these questions are Laf anyway
When is the last time you watched a Rangers game or even looked closely at Laf?Ehh, you don't know that. Meanwhile, the Rangers most common line (by a country mile) is Panarin-Trocheck-Lafreniere. That's Panarin with 107 points, Trocheck with 75 points, and Lafreniere with 52 points. Not hard to see why Laf is putting up his best numbers yet. He's very clearly the third best player on his line.
Are you gonna sit here and tell me you watch Wild games? Or closely watch Rossi? When is the last time you watched a Rangers game or even looked closely at Laf?
No and I don’t get to see him as often (I’m a season ticket holder and only see the Wild once a year) but I’ve seen enough of Laf to tell you he’s a line driver, which is genuinely doubt Rossi is (from what I have seen)Are you gonna sit here and tell me you watch Wild games? Or closely watch Rossi?
What is that exactly?Laf has 2 more seasons in the NHL than Rossi...and was 1st OVR. The fact that this is even a discussion says all you need to know about Laf.
Doesn’t seem like much of a discussion right now since the only ones who voted for Rossi are Wild fans and one guy who misvoted.Laf has 2 more seasons in the NHL than Rossi...and was 1st OVR. The fact that this is even a discussion says all you need to know about Laf.
Someone that should have gone top 20 maybe? What is that exactly?
Makes sense why you seem so uneducated on him.No and I don’t get to see him as often (I’m a season ticket holder and only see the Wild once a year) but I’ve seen enough of Laf to tell you he’s a line driver, which is genuinely doubt Rossi is (from what I have seen)
It’s sad to see that MIN has been deprived of offensive talent for so long that as soon as a 22 years old pull out an ok season (below 0.5 PPG) then he’s seen as the next big thing coming.Makes sense why you seem so uneducated on him.
Classic projection from a habs fan lolIt’s sad to see that MIN has been deprived of offensive talent for so long that as soon as a 22 years old pull out an ok season (below 0.5 PPG) then he’s seen as the next big thing coming.
Am I projecting? He’s Newhook level, good but nothing impressive and ya’ll talk like he’s next in line for presidency.Classic projection from a habs fan lol
