Hischier and Hughes had much better D2 seasons. They were cut short due to injuries but they were much better thank Slafs.

But with the Laf v Slaf chat, you are literally comparing a player who was on the 3rd line, less than 15mins a night and basically no PP time to someone playing top line, nearly 18mins a night and is PP1.
Hischier played 70 games and hughes 56. They were not much better than Slaf

Slafkovsky is playing on a non playoff team in his second season. Lafreniere played on a team that went to the Eastern Conference Final in his second year.

You can’t compare what was earned. Two completely different situations. Impossible to know how each would do in the opposite situation.

And you are the one boasting towards your player. You don’t see Rangers fans trying to denigrate Slafkovsky.
Exactly. But they don't wanna talk context just OMGZ Slaf is soooo much better. Typical Habs

Worse team = more ice time and PP opportunities
Better team = better linemates and easier opposition. Other teams will have their best pairings vs Panarin's line which leaves Laf vs teams 2nd or 3rd pairing....while teams focus their top pair on Suzuki, Caufield and Sfaf.

We can go back and fourth all you want but its fact that Slafs 2nd season is better than Lafs....I mean why argue when its so obvious???

Because its not that obvious. Laf didnt get meaningful PP time so we'll never know.

Okay buddy, maybe one day Slaf will make the playoffs. Question is will is be on the Habs?
awww...no need to lash out at The Habs. Its not their fault you cant win this debate.

Look, Laf is good and gonna get better. No one is saying anything different. Slaf is just better so far. Maybe he cools off and turns out to be a 2nd liner at best but for now its looking real good for The Habs. Both teams should be happy with their players....

What the hell does Slaf have to do with Laf to Montreal?

How does this happen?

Laf is looking good. Rangers are competing. There's nothing to be discussed here.

What even is this thread? Lafreniere has taken a huge step this season and firmly planted himself into the Rangers' core going forward.

Just a bizarre thread.
This is a bizarre thread. The Rangers would want a lot in return if trading Lafreniere and the Canadiens wouldn't want to send a quality return to get Laf.

He's out producing him? Slafkovsky has 6 less points in 1 less game while playing 24 seconds more per game, with more than twice Lafreniere's PP TOI per game. Slafkovsky has 7 more PP points on the season, but 13 less points at even strength. Lafreniere's 41 points at evens would lead the Canadiens. As would his 34 points at 5v5.
Lafreniere plays for a team where he gets to play the opposing team 3-4 line as there are much much better player ahead of him. Slaf does not

Oh and Laf is in his 4th year, Slaf's 2nd year.oa lightyear better than Lafs AINEC

Laf year 2: 29 EV points
Slaf year 2: 28 EV points so far

Its not as far a gap as Hab fans think

Triple
29 EV point playing vs the other teams 4th linw and bottom pairing

Vs

28EV point playing vs the other trams best players

Who's better?

Not this thread again. Laf in four years, 21 pts, 31 pts, 39 pts, most likely 50+ pts. It's obvious to anyone with a high school level of mathematics that in just 5 years Laf is scoring 100+ points because that's how math works ;)

Exactly.

I think after this season it’s blatantly obvious that the slim chance of trying to potentially buy low on Lafreniere has definitely sailed by this point.

This is a thread I would’ve expected to see last year on the night the Rangers got eliminated or something like that, definitely not after the season Laf has had.

Nico Hischier was the 1C and 2nd best player on a playoff team immediately after being drafted.

34th in 5v5 points with 42, 34th in 5v5 goals with 18 in the NHL.

to put that into perspective slafkovsky has 8 goals 5v5 and 25 points in the same amount of minutes.

First, its in 69 games, not 67. And show me you're much better play driving metric.
