First question: where do they get all the money to go to Vegas. I’m 26 and I’ve never been... but that might be mostly just cause I don’t see the appeal others see.

She lived with our parents for quite a few years, so she didn't have a lot of expenses, and was making good money. Besides that, like others have alluded to, Vegas can be pretty cheap depending on how you do it. I know a lot of people who share hotel rooms, flights were usually pretty cheap, and the rest of it just depends on how much gambling you want to do, or how many shows you want to go to. I feel like a lot of people go to Vegas for the experience more than anything, so they don't need to spend too much when they're there. Just food and drinks.

I've been to Vegas numerous times, but it's only been for baseball tournaments. I enjoy the desert, and the eating can be decent, but the whole Casino thing doesn't do anything for me. It's not the place to go if you can't stand second hand cigarette smoke.

We had a Russian on our HS team when I was there. He now lives in Vegas (or last time I checked he was living there). I wonder if there isn't some kind of Russian community there

According to Russo, Guerin says negotiations are at a standstill, but the lines are open. Continues to say he's not worried.

But I think Kaprizov wants 3 years, take it or leave it. I have a feeling he really wants to explore free agency when possible.

Sounds like he doesn't really wanna be in MN.

How do you come to that conclusion? IMO, this is just a typical RFA negotiation.
He sees the TV deal that was signed and IMO is betting on himself a bit to say in 3 years he should be paid what market value is at the time, not what it is right now. He knows he has played limited NHL games at this point, and though he wants big money is also not going to short himself if he thinks he can get more. I don't think it has anything to do with liking or not liking Minnesota. He has always been treated as a star in Russia and we fawned over him for years.. so he believes it, and quite honestly.. rightfully so.

I'm afraid so, the Wild offer is $72M over 8 years, and he says no thanks. Jeez...then you know he's not in love.

But he's taking a risk, what if his stats for the next 3 years are not that impressive, he could end up with less money.

He's betting on himself to sign a larger UFA deal with a rising cap in a few seasons. It has nothing to do with "love" or "hate". It's just smart negotiating by his agent. I'll bet my next paycheck that he is signed before camp starts.

A lot of the newer casinos are smoke free. Vegas is a blast though there's something to do for everyone. It's one of the foodie capitals of the world, great people watching and just experience being in the middle of everything on the strip, lay by the pool during the morning/afternoon, go sports gamble/gamble, watch shows, go clubbing, or go to a sporting event at night. Great golfing. Can walk around with open drinks. I mean you can make it whatever you want.

As good as Kaprizov has been, I would trade him to the Rangers for Lafreniere if he refuses to sign beyond 3 years. And I would do it soon.

I have zero desire to be Columbus 2.0.

Kaprizov and Guerin are playing chicken to see which one offers the 4-5 year deal first

yes,

i also know he had a terrible season for a 1st overall..

He would hardly be the first 1st overall to have a disappointing rookie year and go on to be a great player after that.

he also wouldnt be the first 1st overall from the Q to not live up to the draft position he was selected... either way, im not trading kaprizov for him. can get better value elsewhere im sure.
