down 3 goals with two minutes left, of course GG decides to not pull the goalie and put the 3rd pair on the ice.

Problem is, this is how Anaheim is going to play them im the play offs. And the Flames crapped the bed tonight.

This game reminds me a lot of Game 1 against Vancouver 2 seasons ago. We looked overwhelmed and had no flow. The next game we were much more composed and played our game.

This is the kind of stuff that makes Guluztan kind of irritating.

Big picture, the Flames are exactly where they were expected to be. They're transitioning from being a rebuilding club to becoming a playoff contender. Learning how to walk after crawling, etc.

But dig a little deeper and Guluztan's love affair with "his" guys (Chiasson, Bartkowski, Engelland, even Grossmann) is inexplicable.

Also, his handling of Bennett thus far has been abysmal. Flames kind of really need him to become an impact player if they truly want to be cup contenders instead of meandering in the wilderness.

Where was Sam this game?

I was hoping he would join in on the shenanigans this game.

It's been coached out of him. Any extracurricular activity and he's benched.

What a terrible game. Can't fault Elliott on this one, but Bishop was definitely the more superior goalie not only in stopping the pucks but also stopping chances. Bishop made Holtby look like an AHLer in comparison (And Holtby is usually known as one of the best in what Bishop was doing tonight) and was on par with prime Rinne and Brodeur in tracking, freezing, and moving the puck. Bishop was like a deity in comparison to Crawford and Dubnyk and especially Pavelec lol.

10th in the NHL before this game. It is inconsistent but cmon

It's inflated by one stretch where we were above 30% IIRC. There have been numerous stretches where we can't by a PP goal.

Anyone who thinks he's actually done a good job with the PP is delusional.

Pretty bad game. The powerplay was a joke tonight again. It could've changed the face of the game at some point, but no, we go 0-6. Awful. Figure it out. The game was thrown off for the Flames by the bull**** shenanigans in the first period. Totally disjointed after that. Disappointing game. The Flames better come to play next game.

Me too. He certainly doesn't look finished.

After he was traded from Colorado, he said at the start of the season he wouldn't have considered this as his last season but as the season went on, it really drained him emotionally and motivationally and retirement wasn't completely ruled out. I'm hoping the finds that spark again with the Kings.

that "one stretch" is like half the season

from Nov. 15 to Mar. 15 the Flames had the 2nd best PP in the NHL

We had a stretch in December where we did an ungodly 45+%. And than another stretch of 30+%. Definitely inflated by those stretches. We've lost countless games because of our weak power play this year.

Meh. It was what it was. We didn't win, but we didn't back down from anything. We stood up to everyone of their players, we didn't back down at all. It's just their world class players finally stepped up.

LA threw the Flames off their game and it worked. And you can think of it as a good thing, a good lesson.

I actually love this schedule for the Flames, I'm glad we have some real tests down the stretch. Need this PP to go now.

we also won games because of the PP when it was good. All PPs go through peaks and valleys.
