A top level contender may just spend the 5th or whatever to keep Halak as extra insurance... maybe Colorado?

I could see them being add ons in a bigger deal to sure up the Leafs backup situation and cap navigating if the Leafs add one of Vancouver's wingers. Im pretty sure these 2 teams are close to a deal. Just intuition.
Halak certainly wouldn’t shore up the goaltending….

So he refused to waive it before, but he's willing to now after he straight up tanked any possible value.

If the other team would pick up the tab for next year, I think the Canucks are open to anything.

But I don't trust this rumour.

Makes sense actually, no way he’ll earn that save % bonus playing in Van now. He actually has incentive to waive.

Given his recent play I can't think of any teams that are close to making the playoffs that would want him. Honestly asking...what teams that have a chance at the playoffs don't have better options within their own systems already?

I think his recent play puts his value to the "future considerations" realm.
