In our top 6, Zibanejad is the only problem. He is holding back all his line mates and that even includes Ryan. Ryan has been really good this year (maybe not the 7mill superstar), but he is making things happen. His game automatically elevated instantly when he was put with Turris.

I think Cameron hands are tide, because, if he tries to shuffle the top 6 and have Ryan play with Turris and maybe a Hoffman or Stone with Zibanejad. Then, we will still run into the same problem with Zibanejad dragging down whoever is his line mate(s).

The only realistic option I see is and something that Cameron should really try it, is that have Pageau switch with Zibanejad for a few games. This move makes a lot of sense for the following reasons..

1. Your first line stays intact

2. Ryan gets to play with 2 guys who plays a speedy game and can carry the puck, which will open some room for Ryan to do his thing

3. the 3rd line of Zibby, Chiasson and Milo can have instant chemistry because they play a similar style of game. They all have all heavy bodies, good release, and are potent around the net. They can simplify their game and just play a north south crash the net type of a game. That is all you need from a 3rd line.

I can get behind this reasoning. Zibanejad is getting better, but is still not where he needs to be. Give him some time to sort himself out and make him "take" back his No2 spot. Pageau is just Mr Hustle and is always creating something. A Prince - Pageau - Ryan line could be a lift. That makes a Puempel - Smith - Lazar trio as the 4, based on your Zibanejad combination.

I know that Chia is the 'big body' on the powerplay that Cameron seems to like having in front of the net, but I'd like to see Prince get some time on PP2 - show some of his skill on the PP with more room to make plays.

Jets played last night on the road, so no excuses for us - we should have significantly more jump than they do right from the opening faceoff.

God is sprinkling his magic dust. Ryan and Zibby should be crying tears of joy while witnessing our almighty gods' magic from up close.

Too much?

Looking forward to going to this game tonight, Winnipeg is a big fast team that like to push our team around. With Stone out again for his second game suspension it will be another challenge for this team to beat Winnipeg especially at home where they have had their problems winning.

Once MacArthur returns to the lineup along with Stone I would like to see DC change up his lines & put Zibanejad with Stone & Hoffman & MacArthur with Turris & Ryan to see if they can create two dynamic lines. Of course, you have to wonder what kind of shape MacArthur is going to be in given his concussion problems this yr, these things don't actually ever go away, the problems seem to accumulate.

Yeah, those are pretty good suggestions for lines, but right now I'm assuming Mac is gone for the year.

I hoping I can get this game tonight, I'll be in Thunder Bay and normally I can't get TSN5 when I'm there but if it's on TSN3 I might be lucky. Winnepeg is the closest Canadian team to Thunder Bay as well.

Nice with the return of Alfie the top 6 is getting crowded, good problem to have!

In all seriousness let's hope the Jets are still in mail it in mode from playing bluey last night. That Jets team is big, fast and skilled and should be a tough out come playoff time imo

The longer we go without any updates on Grizz, the more I am thinking you could be right. I am trying to be optimistic and hoping that he might be back after Christmas, but that trip to the specialist in Michigan and the cone of silence around his status is pretty ominous...

They won't break up ZBad and Ryan. Ryan's specifically asked to stay with ZBad to make sure they continue to develop chemistry - and it's the right idea.

If anything, I'd love to see Pageau on the left side (he can play anywhere, I'm sure of it), but that's a pipe dream I think.

this kind of sucks because we should try another combo and see if it works

hoffman-turris-ryan
prince/michalek-zibby-stone

i think that has the potential to work really well when stone comes back. Stone looks to pass first anyways and is a really smart player, if he can get zibby to use his shot that second line starts clicking immediately and the line swap may get more production out of ryan which would be amazing

I'm going to my first game this season tonight. My plan is to get drunk enough that I can't be held responsible for my actions. Godspeed everybody.
