Wow, that's pretty bad
Are you sure all those players are actually playing centre though? For example, I think Tampa has some of their centres on the wing in the top-6.

I'm not concerned about Scheif, and Little has been playing pretty well of late but just unlucky
Lowry was never meant to be a scorer
Hopefully the 4th line picks it up a bit with Roslovic

Little had been playing well, he has disappeared again and has no points to prove it, surely not a legit. 2C by any stretch~!

It's mostly skewed about how a player is listed. Tampa is the run away leader has 7 regulars listed as centers. I'm guessing a lot of those points are coming from guys lining up on the wing.

That would be true likely for many teams.....Jets to included. The fact remains centre is a weakness......albeit as a team our winger depth has helped reduce the centre weakness. Currently 15th overall for goals scored as a team, not sure if that's good enough. Guys need to step it up scoring, especially the centres.

I mean, Tampa has 52 points. You can't count Johnson as a center if he's not playing center.

We are 28th in 5v5 scoring, 3rd in 5v4 scoring and 9th in 5v3 scoring. We really need to step it up at even strength or we aren't going to do much in the playoffs. We also have the 22nd most shots in the league and are shooting at 9.8% as as a team which is good for 16th in the league.

I have suggested this before: trade Trouba for a young 2c if he doesn't re-up in January. Then shore up the d with one or two rentals. Trouba doesnt have to be traded for another d as folks constantly assume.

The only issue is there aren't any young 2C's available.

All teams have weaknesses......the Jets main ones IMO are centre and RHD. Centres are currently struggling.....unknown if Roslovic will ever convert to a centre.....no one else in our system has top six potential IMO. RHD future is majorly in question with no top 4 prospects, Trouba'scontract status a major concern, Buff two years left only and Myers sucks.

If Trouba was traded we need to address one of those two weaknesses (RHD or C) with whatever he returns (barring how things go with Little & Roslovic).

You never know who might be available - especially if we were to offer up a top notch winger or Dman -
I don't have enough depth knowledge of every team out there (roster and farm) but that's what you'd need in order to determine what is really available.

The first question you need to ask is what are we willing to give up?
You want a top notch 2nd C, it's going to cost you. We have the assets to put on the block but are we willing?

The more I think about this idea, the more I like it. We really need a center, and also Trouba wants to leave, and teams would return a great center for Trouba. We could move Myers up in the lineup, and add in Poolman --it would work fine, as we won most of our games last year when Trouba was out.

Good post St.B

Ranked by PPG of players actually playing center. Last column is total points by centers. Puts Winnipeg at 24th overall in the league.

I like this stat better which might explain the scoring.
Power plays opportunities
#1 Nashville ...... 74
#4 Tampa ......... 70
#31 Winnipeg ... 51

Certainly affects it, but largely out of our control.
