I'm guessing that's a fairly conservative timeline, considering the lack of pressure to rush him back.

If he's fully healthy in 3 weeks, that's a happy ending to this story. He would have about a week to get back up to game speed before the playoffs.
I mean you look at the schedule we have remaining and there is zero reason to rush him back. Let him heal up fully, then reintroduce him to get him up to speed for the final few tuneup games in the schedule and be ready to go full bore in the playoffs.

Of course! The old magical healing just for the playoffs trick!

Yep, our April schedule is really soft compared to the gauntlet we just ran. From here forward, if we can't win a solid majority of the games it's not because we didn't have Kotkaniemi out there.

Hopefully Lorentz and/or Martinook (back soon) can make up most of what KK was bringing on that line.

I don't have a lot of confidence in that. Something like a Lorentz - Stepan - Martinook line ends up getting caved shift after shift, mainly because the puck bounces 10 feet off the wingers' sticks every time they touch it. Kotkaniemi gave us a guy who could actually maintain possession and make a play to get it out of the zone, which is uncommon on a 4th line unless it's coming at a cost to the top-9.

We won't see that line unless someone else farther up got hurt, thus letting Domi go farther up the lineup. If noone else gets hurt, then either Domi is still there or someone from the other lines (Fast, Jarvis, ???) takes one of their spots.

If he plays against Detroit, it'll be 2 weeks after his injury, so on the best case scenario on his return window. At the same time, I wonder how much of that timing is reflective of our play the last few games
