What do you want from MTL for Charlie Coyle?

Not a Minnesota fan but I'd do something around Galchenyuk easily if I were them, go from meat and potatoes to higher risk/reward offensive player a la Saad-Panarin.

Zucker isn’t part of the problem.

Aging/injured vets (Koivu, Parise) and underperform guys like Coyle and Brodin are.
Zucker has 4 goals and 8 points in 31 playoff games... that is underperforming and part of the problem.

Koivu actually had a level of production in this series, Zucker did not.

I've always had interest as a Flyers fan, but we're a bit short on expendable pieces that would help the Wild 'now'.
We're not "against" pieces that help for the future if they are of high enough quality...

I might be way off base here, so don't take this personally, but what about Lee, Nelson (RFA), Pelech (beginning a 5 year contract at a sub 2M per cap hit), 2nd rounder for Brodin, Zucker (RFA), and 4th rounder?

I could be in the minority here, but I would have thought Zucker would be part of the solution, but I guess I can see the reasoning to try and sell high on him.
Although I could see a young team needing to take the next step and solidify the centre position giving something decent for Koivu.

Only two years on his contract so won’t handcuff anyone too badly.

Koivu has a NMC, and has no desire to leave. I'd be shocked if he doesn't retire with the Wild.

Best option may be to package both Zucker and Coyle together in one deal... maximize the return for both.

What can the Wild get for trading Zoyle?

Doesn’t hurt to explore that option if it would or could become an option. Players mindsets sometimes change when presented with something intriguing.

I don't necessarily hate it too much. Nelson doesn't do a hell of a lot for me, but Lee is exactly the type of player the Wild need.

Galcioretty maybe but think it's lateral move for both teams

So a guy with a 64 pt., 33g season is all of a sudden a problem that needs to be dealt away? Where do you people come from?

No, the player isn't a problem in a vacuum, but the team as assembled including said player is a problem, and that player isn't a solution to solving that team makeup problem.

Changing the team makeup is a solution, and in order to do that in a significant manner, you have to be willing to move a significant asset, thus that player can help provide a solution to the overall problem in that manner.

slow and aging out of his prime?

Lee is not fleet of foot by any means, but he just scored a career high in goals, so I would say he is comfortably in his prime, not aging out of it.

Lee's game doesn't revolve around skating. As long as his line mates get pucks on net, he'll score goals by deflecting pucks, collecting rebounds, and outmuscling opponents for tap-ins. He'll also help his line mates score goals by screening the goalie.

I don't think his value around the league is going to be as high as his numbers suggest, just don't think you're painting an accurate picture regarding him and his game.

Not the description of what the wild are looking for. Need puck skills, not garbage goal skills.

I know a lot about Lee, having watched him grow up here in town. I think he's great, BUT, he's a specialist, and has maybe one or two good years left before he starts the inevitable slide in production as he ages. It might be slow, it might be fast...who knows. As someone who is already slowish, I would argue that he doesn't have the speed to burn like some others, and keep him relevant.

The Wild really, really, don't need to get slower. Teams like WPG and NSH are killing us with their combination of speed and skill as is.

Why do you guys think I’m trying to convince you that’s he’s a good fit for the Wild, that’s not what I’m trying to do at all.

I'd love him on Ottawa. What is Minnesota looking for?

We're looking for a player with strong puck handling and passing skills who can create space for himself and his teammates as well as score goals.

Was going to come in here to offer Pittsburgh’s first and then I learned Zucker had 33 goals this year. I did not know that.

I’ll show myself out.

Speaking of Zucker, anyone remember a band called Zuckerbaby?

Doesn't make sense for us, timeline-wise. I doubt there's a trade match, only the dream of an offer sheet.
Was it $7mx7 that you had mentioned previously? Buffalo winters must make for fitful dreaming.

Edit: Crap! That's right, you're not even in Buffalo. Well, the point still stands
