Just a pathetic effort all around other than Talbot.

What I want to know is why Lander isn't playing if he gets called up. You know.. a guy in Lander who's good at faceoffs and PKing would be helpful against the league's best PP.

Pouliot has been utter garbage and for the love of God, send Jesse down if Todd isn't gonna play him much.

**** this team. At this rate they'll be lucky to squeak into a WC spot. As if they even deserve that at this point.

Deadline shopping list: 4 top-6 wingers.

Minnesota and Columbus's streaks are emblematic of the state of NHL hockey.

This Oilers team is so bad. I can only count 4 or 5 players that show up to play every game: McDavid, Draisaitl, Maroon, Sekera and maybe Talbot. We've got 18m in RNH Eberle and Lucic doing nothing. We've got Adam Larsson for Taylor Hall and he can't even get a shot off from the blueline without it flubbing around, where's his untapped offensive potential? We've got Russell who's about to get extended long term yuck. We've got Kassian Hendricks and Letestu outplaying the top 6. We've got Puljujarvi being benched due to one bad call, and then playing 8 mins/game and we call that "developing". We've got Slepyshev down in the minors after playing excellent bottom 6 hockey. Everything is wrong with this team.

Eberle makes gagner look huge.

JP benched for a bad period, pouliot not benched for practically losing us the game.

McDavid looking mediocre.

McLellan continues to make some head scratching decisions.

Haven't scored 4 goals in a game since December 8. Every other team except Colorado has managed to score 4 more recently.

21 goals (22 with the SO goal) in the past 10 games (172 per 82). Being 5-2-3 in that stretch is a miracle. Team has been garbage for awhile.

McDavid deserves some criticism here. He played a pretty bad game.

Pouliot lost this game for us though, what a bonehead play. Man he is a terrible hockey player.

Looked very slow tonight. We kept dumping it in the corner with zero forcheck and by the time we got there the puck was 2 passes back our way.

When we finally got the puck in their zone and had pressure we created zero scoring chances.

Pretty poor effort against a team that seriously outworked us made this look even worse

Don't forget about not playing Lander against the league's best PP team.

McDavid has looked more like Ales Hemsky than a generational player for about 10 games now.

That Columbus team is rolling.

The one thing I took away from that game though is that their team, especially on the PP, uses all of the ice using very quick passes. That Saad cross-seam was a perfect example. We have way too many guys on this roster telegraphing their passes and it forces us to focus our attack on a small part of the ice. That's why we're so easy to defend at times.

We need another winger, like yesterday.

Yikes, they've played a solid last 5 games or so. Tonight that was not the case, and they met the leagues hottest team, not a good recipe. On to the next

Well we didn't give them the record!
Oilers out classed in every way and the Jackets have their mojo going...impressive team
CBJ didn't wow me but they have a really effective and simple PP, good goalie and fast Dmen that jump into every offensive rush... i guess thats enough

We are 2nd in the West in scoring, largely probably due to McDavid, but yeah we definitely go through stretches where the well goes dry.

Mostly on RNH and Eberle ... they are here to score goals and they're not doing it. They need to chip in when McDavid/Draisaitl are not.
