It's hard to complain with how this team has been playing, but my one gripe is Zajac on the PP. I'm not sure I understand why he's out there on our first unit? Seems like a perfect place to put Zacha to get his confidence going. And he was one of our better PP players last year, I'm not sure I understand why he doesn't really get any time there. With all that said, Zajac is absolutely going to get a PP goal tonight because of this post lol.

I feel you there. I think a top LHD and a 2nd line center are the biggest needs. That second line center would replace Zajac on the PP as well.

Most rookies are terrible at faceoffs and Nico is no different. What's important is that he improves his faceoff skill over time (getting stronger will help with that as well). For example, Crosby did was also terrible as a rookie/young player, but he put a lot of work into it and got much better.

Also the coaches are seemingly being pick with who Nico matches up with on the dot. If he would go up to someone with the same handiness, they will just put in another forward with the opposite handiness if they are able too. Faceoffs are really hard against bigger guys with more experience anyway too.

i was thinking that and coming here to ask that same thing.


two huuuuuuuuuuge wins before xmas then the break and now the wings? man this smells like a big trap game. does the team come out flat and dont show up til the 3rd? or do they come out like the hawks game and drive the wings into the ice in the first and then coast?

its only one game but man it would be nice to show that the team is tough enough mentally to handle this type of swing of games/break in games
