I think there are other factors at play other than dates available, such as the national TV contract and the attractiveness of certain teams for the mass Canadian market.
Don't disagree with anything you've said. Problem is, endlessly satisfying the mass Canadian market becomes a self-fulfilling prophecy. If all the national broadcaster(s) do is endlessly pander to Toronto (English) and Montreal (Franćais), how can any other Canadian teams gain traction, interest or respect? Scheduling favourtism is bad enough. Having to suffer through god-awful homer Leafs broadcasts even when they play another Canadian team is stomach churning. These national broadcasts are among the worst unprofessional going. Leafs fan love it obviously, and cannot possibly see any issues. Fans of other teams are forced to spend most of the game throwing up in the mouths, swearing at the TV! In terms of national broadcasts (not regional team ones) these guys really should hang their heads in shame! Truly pathetic!

It's almost like our only two sports media networks also own the Leafs.

100 percent? If he isnt 100 Forsberg should start and he should get Florida. He seems to be the type of goalie who plays better when he gets lots of rubber. Dont think the NYI is a good matchup for him.
My bad, it looks like he is still hurt so Forsberg is getting the call.

No conflict of interest there, eh? Hell, they couldn't even resist the irony in naming one of those networks TSN, as in Toronto Sports Network!

I suppose the smaller Canadian markets will have to get bigger, much bigger, and bigger than Toronto and Montreal. :)

Factually untrue.

Would be nice, and certainly help though.
We just need to get 10 points every 8 games played for the entire season. That would give us 100 points.

We now have 16 points in 15 games. Can't get 20 points in 16 games but we will be close if we win tonight (18 in 16 games).

We would have to get 12 points in the following 8 games (win 6 of the 8 games) to make up for the shortfall and get on pace for the playoffs. Hope the boys can do it.
