Just to get the discussion going here, who sits when Kulikov comes back? It should be Mitchell. But will they scratch the Captain?

Kampfer, as long as mitchell sticks with petro and gets bottom pairing minutes.

Expecting big night from Pirri tomorrow.

Maybe even Huberdeau....getting a demotion should light a fire on his ass

I'll be there hoping that they actually realize the game starts in the first period not the second. If they get out shot 17-18 to 4 again I may just check out after the first.

JJ is our leading scorer.

And the other JJ is second. In response to the pregame thread. I saw this yesterday when I was checking where Trocheck placed in scoring on our team.

Mitchell is just getting way too many minutes atm. He should be getting 3rd pairing shutdown minutes. Not 1st pairing minutes. If he plays less minutes he will be far more effective.

Because playing Trocheck or Bjugstad in a defensive role worked so we'll last game...:shakehead

To be fair, we're 7-0-1 in 8 games where we've scored 3 goals or more and 1-9-3 when we score 2 or less, so I wouldn't say that using them in a defensive role is the issue. Plus, they're always playing in a defensive role because they're always taking d-zone draws.

Based on past couple of practices + callups:

Pirri-Barkov-Jagr
Huberdeau-Bjugstad-Smith
Jokinen-Trocheck-Shaw
Howden-MacKenzie-Brickley

Looks good.

How is Shaw defensively?

Will Jokinen be able to keep up with Trocheck?

Yeah, the 3rd line is the most concerning. Happy with everything else.

Not sure if putting Pirri on that top line makes a difference, that line needs someone like Smith with more speed. Then again we don't have a left winger like that...

hopefully it works though!

I know you're super anti-Bolland, but you can't be serious if you think Trocheck is better in the defensive role than Bolland.

I'm not anti bolland.

I'm pro facts.

Fact is bolland loses greater than 60% of his faceoffs in our arena

If you know hockey you know how tragic a defensive zone loss is.

That's all I'm saying.

I'd wear a bolland jersey if hed win faceoffs score 12-15g and act like a rat.

You know, do what he gets paid to do. Which if he would he wouldn't be scratched 2 consec games.

"Bolland wins the big ones" -Steve "Goldie" Goldstein

My favorite quote, lol.

I like Brickley's approach to playing in the NHL. He continues to do the same things that got him there. Shaw was a bit like deer in the headlights last call up. Let's the kid relaxes a little tonight and plays with confident. Can't have anyone in awe of the opposition.

Still think Bolland makes more sense than Shaw on the wing with Trocheck. Or put Brickley on the third line (he deserves it) and Bolland on Mackenzie's wing.
