If the Isles want to send a message to Judas, they have guys that can hit cleanly that can deliver the message. IE Komarov and Clutterbuck.

Clutter may hug Pajama Boy, but as one of his close friends, that's all your going to get. Johnston and Kom may do the job though....

The revenge I pray for doesn't involve violence: I want the Isles to grab the last wild card, face the Leafs and knock them out in 6 games. It would be the most joyous, wonderful and satisfying moment in team history. If it happened at the Coliseum people would be celebrating in the parking lot for days after.

I agree. You never want to intentionally hurt a player, no one should ever condone this. What you want to do is show pride in the jersey. Send a message, good clean hits with a little more emphasis. This is what I would want to see in my team. Show the deserters they were wrong to leave, and we are doing just fine with players that want to play on Long Island.

The game can be ironic and karma has hit back often from all my years of watching the game. Trotz will send the right message to his team.

Well, for this year, even if he'd end up with a regular shift, I'm not seeing him be made much use of on the PP.

As such, if taking a regular shift for say 60 games, I'd think his sleek, quick passing and ability to get the puck to the net through traffic would allow him to have 3-12-15 style numbers.

But I do currently see 7 bodies ahead of him, including Toews.

For his career what do you project?

The 3rd pairing, PP specialist was career.

I've definitely asked you this before but how do you speak to these people from scouting services and whatnot? It's is amazing that your knowledge on these players is so high.

Been fortunate enough to visit a number of tournaments, games or events in a journalistic or organizational capacity, sometimes working directly with participating teams/players.

Well, as much as I like the kid, I can't say I have that feeling that he's going to force his way into a regular NHL job for the long run come hell or high water.

Sure, something like becoming a Visnovsky type would be a terrific outcome and likely THE best-case scenario.

But I think what he actually achieves in the NHL will be highly dependent upon whether a team (and it might be us) that needs what he brings to the table actually puts him in that position and lets him run with it. I could see him blooming correspondingly.

He could just as easily get lost in the numbers game, be moved, get lost in the numbers game elsewhere, then continue his career in Europe, where his skill set will ensure him a number of years and some good money in the KHL, SHL or NLA.

We found out last season that he's already serviceable. Now it's up to him to show Trotz and the staff that he's a better option than say Mayfield, who automatically has the size and toughness advantage.

Thanks for the response.

He seems to fit the kind of game Trotz wants to incorporate here—quick, smart outlets and pace. So maybe he gets the chance.

Clutter still loves JT according to Compton latest article. Best buds for life.

Have to say, as a fan, that mentality is infuriating. I’ve had enough of the isles nice guy attitude we have had for years. Time to get some guys with an edge. Clutter can be the first culture change casualty.

I agree, considering Clutterbucks game is built on being an agitator the man will have to play that role or Lou and co will find a cheap, young guy on an ELC to replace him. Like Lou has said, a great hockey team is like an orchestra. Clutterbuck will be given a chance to fine tune his role, if the brass does not like what they see? The fat lady will sing.....

This is how I feel about Clutterbuck. He plays the role of an agitator but he really doesn't want to be one. A real agitator is a guy like Marchand or Avery. Now those are pieces of shit that can really get under your skin.

Clutter was this type of in your face , yap yap yap at ya , fly around like Steve Webb but could score a little, type of player in Minnesota and was this type of player when we traded for him. Now not so much which explains the big contract extension Thanks Garth

LGI

Just announced is a JohhnyTurncoat Pajamas Bobblehead night in January. The spine will be removable. Like in the movie Predator

Clutterbuck crying about the commute to Brooklyn is the best. Know where he should really be commuting to? Bridgeport. Or better yet Worcester. Lou needs to put the word out that anyone who publicly cries about the commute will earn a one way ticket to the AHL. This crap needs to end, just about every team in the league has a commute but only the ones here can't shut up about it for some reason.

Yeah, Clutterbuck is starting to sour on me. Time to clear out the clutter.

At least Marchand backs up his face licking with skill.

god bless America, no pun indeed but Clutterbuck may of forgotten what price he had to pay to get an NHL gig and what price he had to pay to get his 7 figure multiple year deal. It took blood, sweat and maybe some tears because some nights it may of hurt. It's almost like he has to get the "eye of the tiger" back like Rocky had to do in Rocky 3 going back to the musty gyms and getting that snarl back. It appears clutterbuck lost that and has focused on fine tuning the golf game. Can't blame the guy, there are some awesome private clubs on Long Island. So, once Lou and co discover this fraud "god bless america" may be heard. Now if Clutterbuck gets the grit back on a everyday basis he can be very very effective. To other teams he has that " I hate you face" only teammates can love....

So concerning Cluter there’s a shelf life to that style of play his body and mind have probably checked out on that game at this stage of his career. In recent years he’s not shown the same energy and has sustained several injuries. Can Matt Martin revive his passion when they bring back the old fourth line who knows because you could probably say the same of him as well. It’s tricky but given all the third and fourth line players currently on the roster there will someone willing to pay the price should anyone balk at their assignments.

No doubt about that. It's just a fine line of playing on that edge 0r possibly over it. It's a tough way to play and the body and mind can only take so much. Tons of respect for our past warriors #23, #27 among the many from the cup days. Will Clutterbuck go for his swan song and give it everything he has ? If not, his Isles career will be done soon I feel. We will find out ...

If you put Clutterbuck and a can of herpes in a box in front of the Coliseum with a sign reading "free" the can would be claimed first.

Originally CDH wanted a longterm extension with the isles.Snow would not budge on it.
By the time Lou came on board, CDH was about to hit the ufa market and although Lou now wanted the isles to extend CDH, Calvin had no reason not to test the market. We all know the isles late attempt to keep CDH failed, with the press reporting 10 teams pushing to sign him.
He was asked in an interview about the arena issue,if it played a role in his leaving and I loved his response of " it's a 200 ft rink". CDH refused to feed into the idea, that these pro athletes are suffering by having to commute some days

Clutterbuck was Top 10 in the league in hits. Off year overall due to Doug Weight. He is fine. I am sure Lou is glad to have him.
Clutterbuck is nowhere near the agitator he was when he joined the isles.
Kind of ironic that since Tavares left, the declining Ladd and Clutterbuck have been the most vocal nyi ,saying how the isles are a better team then pundits are giving them credit for, that the isles ate a good team.

Imo both Ladd and Clutterbuck are on the downside of their careers and the isles would like to dump both overpaid forwards. Both would pass thru waivers at this point.
