maybe, but it is broadcasted only on Sport1. ZDF would have better numbers

I know, I have even watched some games on Sport1, I like the duo Goldmann and Schwele.

yeah, ARD or ZDF would have probable better numbers, but still the Sport1 is free and available for German spectators.

Yeah, Sport1 is not available in all households (depending on location and the method by which you receive your tv signal), but it's available in most.

This is more a reflection the very regional interest in hockey in Germany. You'd think this is an 82 million people country, so surely 4-5 million will tune in, but hockey interest is limited to 2 or 3 small pockets mostly. Also the reason ZDF or ARD are not bidding for it probs.

This seems hard to believe...I think they're counting the same people multiple times (i.e. if you say watched 10 WC games you're counted as 10 people, not 1 person)

Based on 1,200,000,000 people watching a 16 day event, that's 75 million people a day watching - to me these numbers being posted don't seem like they're likely to add up to 75 million per day worldwide

I feel like MTV has kinda killed my interest in the WHC, and if it was on Yle I think more people would watch...I don't have the pay channels, so I can only watch the Finnish games, so I don't get into the WHC feel, when it was on Yle, I'd watch every game that was on...now it's just "meh"...Please Yle, take WHC back!

Bet if they put it on pro7 maxx and made it a show with twitter posts and stuff during the intermissions like they did it with the NFL it would be a whole lot more popular. It kinda gave the NFL broadcasting a comedy/event character seeing the fan tweets and stuff.
