Had a client’s pet pass away today. Never gets any easier. The house sitter mentioned he was dealing with a stomach bug, but when I arrived for the midday visit, he was in bad shape. Heavy breathing, vomiting, leaking out the back. I did my best given the circumstances I walked into, but I do wish I could have gotten him to the vet sooner. Maybe it would have helped.

The client knows and wasn’t entirely surprised. He was an older dog that had just recently been to the vet before her trip, but according to the house sitter, he was 100% fine yesterday. Today (or late last night) was when he apparently started his decline.

I've been teaching myself home server programming and such with an old laptop, right now I've got FileCloud running in a docker on Unbuntu.

I think my next step is to get a mini pc and a couple of 1tb/2tb drives for a raid config, and then pretty much have everything in the house back up to it, phones and photos for local cloud vs internet cloud.

And half of the text in the fu^king articles from “game journalists” is still about the fact that everyone in 15th century Bohemia is surprisingly fu^king white. First game is even set in the countryside of the center of the kingdom. So no wonder the only foreigners - Cumans from Hungary are an enemy since they work as mercenaries for the king (who was not popular in the Czech lands. At all)

Funny thing is that the main guy (the one needed to start things off… but also needed to be overcome in order to finish them) in the studio has some unhinged takes, but he’s saying them in Czech, so they don’t know abour it because rest of the company is reasonable.
