To be fair - unless one has read the 1000+ pages of evidence, it's really hard to make a judgement. I'd like to think there wasn't enough evidence on legal grounds, not on racial ones. But, I don't know.

As to the rioters - way to effect change. That'll get it done. Pathetic.

Yep. I agree. Just going by what has been open to the public

You clearly missed the part that I bolded.

But simply bolding the words of his post and typing "lol what" doesn't come close to explaining what it is that you're trying to question. He answered what he thought it was that you were in disagreement about, which apparently wasn't the case.

Instead of being sarcastic about it, why not clearly define what it is that you're questioning in Alex's post?

I took it the same way Alex did, which is clearly not the way that you meant it.

What do I get if I vote for Cthulhu

Cthulhu for President. Why vote for a lesser evil?

This site is dedicated to the great old one, who should return from his slumber to take over the U.S. government and make this country a whole hell of a lot better as the leader of our executive branch. Or destroy it and drive everyone insane, kill us all, or something really nasty! Remember, Cthulhu for President, why vote for the lesser of two evils?

Yeah, that's kinda my view as well. The grand jury is the only group that saw all the evidence, heard from all the witnesses, associated parties, and experts. I won't go through all the evidence so personally can't honestly say one way or another whether I disagree with their conclusion.

What's fascinating in cases like this is the messaging the media really tries to do (unfortunately). Media biases drive so much reaction of the reaction in this country that it's predictable. To the left wing media, all cops are overzealous racists and all of the victims are good kids. The the right wing media, all cops are great and all the victims are vicious criminals. (I know, an over-exaggeration, but you get my point).

Take a look how this unfolded from day 1. The first couple of days, the media (mostly left leaning) portrayed Brown like this:

Message: a good, happy kid wrongfully shot by the police. Then, a few days later, the right wing media jumps in and portrays him like this:

and this

Message: Thug criminal who was asking for trouble. Many people make their whole decision on a subject based on small snippets from the press like this.

Unless the verdict would have been different then there would be absolutely no change in the aftermath of the decision.

If this whole process has been race-divided, who's to say the jury could have reached the required number (9) if it had been 8 white people on the jury and 4 black people, rather than 9 and 3?

It just seems like a very odd coincidence that the amount of white people on the jury is also the exact number that was needed to make a decision. Were they afraid that if it was anything but that, it would have been a hung jury?

Grand juries in Missouri serve for a four month time period, not just for one case. And, are chosen the same way as regular juries.

It may very well have. Also taking away one white person and adding in another black person may not have changed the result at all. It could have indeed been a different result, but we can't be for certain if it would have.

If they had voted to indict him then we would be seeing a totally different scene. If they still chose not to, I believe everything that is currently going on would have been the same even with the change in who was on the jury.

Sometimes I honestly just believe that some stories shouldn't even be as big as they become at times.
This isn't the first time that something like this has happened, and it won't be the last either. So what makes it so special? What makes it so special that it has to grab the attention of everyone in the country?

I just really hate to see how race seems to keep becoming more and more of an issue and that it is becoming even more fragile than what it already was.

In fairness, people in the triangle have burned personal property for much much more trivial things like basketball games.

In his house at hf boards, dread Lethargic waits posting.

tbh tho, I'm fully on board the Cthulhu for President bandwagon. Who's his VP candidate? I hope it's Azathoth, I always liked that guy.

I even got my Cthulhu 2016 plush toy :D

If this is a subtle swipe at me -- for the millionth time, you should have heard what they said about NC BBQ.

Besides, they shouldn't built a daycare that close to a sports bar in the first place.
