Silly idea for a trade.

But also a good reason why we shouldn't just rush these kids into the NHL as teenagers. Being drafted in the top few picks doesn't nesessarily mean they should be in the NHL right away. Both of these guys would've been better off spending a year in the NCAA/AHL.

That seems like an overpayment from Edmonton, and still doesn't address the Rangers' center depth issue. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Holloway plays C. Just because he had to play wing for Team Canada right after draft being behind guys like Dach and Cozens doesn't mean he will be a winger in NHL. He will be very good on dot and will be responsible at both end of ice playing C.

Could be a #2C in his prime years. More likely 2Lw or 3C

handful of a few b'c Kakko has not been a scoring machine from day 1 is short sighted folly.
Also HC Quinn has not used him best this season.

finally getting some mins w/breadman + looks good

that line should be
Kakko lw -- Kravtsov C -- Panarin RW

Well, what some Ranger fans said about Laine and his value, Kakko cant cost much.

Kakko cant cost much.
Gorton has already said Kakko is not available— so whatever your silly thoughts are, Kakko would cost a lot since the organization sees him as an integral part of the team going forward.

So you’re wrong. lol.

You managed to take 3 players out of their natural position that they ultimately want to play.

Panarin is a LW. He wants to play LW. Do you know better than Panarin, Bern...?

If Panarin felt he’d be more effective at RW, he’d be playing there. But he’s not. Because he’s a natural LW.

Kravtsov is also not a natural center. Yet you keep forcing him to play C. Just because he had a few shifts at C (like a lot of wingers).

Do you think a change of scenery for both would do some good?

Rangers lack C depth and maybe Kravtsov can take Kakko’s spot.

Would NJ do this?

NYR - Jack Hughes ??? o_O
NJD - Kaapo Kakko ??? o_O

When did Jeff Gorton and Tom Fitzgerald become kamikaze?

Jack Hughes >>> Kaapo Kakko = Tom Fitzgerald - unemployed
Kaapo Kakko>>> Jack Hughes = Jeff Gorton- unemployed

Trade never happens both players are young and growing while playing in the NHL....KK overall game is improving points will follow and the same with Hughes and wouldn't hurt if some of those passes to other players those shots would go in the net rather then wide or over the net...

Hughes has already shown vast improvements while I’ve seen article after article about how Kakko has struggled. Why would you ever think this would work

Yeah Jack Hughes is definitely > Kappo Kakko. Gorton would accept the Devils would decline.
He's more productive and more flashy. Jack will have the puck a lot more than Kakko and will use his skating to create zone entries, but I think Kakko has a better overall game this season. He's become one of our best defensive forwards. Now - that's not really what you're looking for from the #2 pick. But if Kakko ever finds his production, he'll be a really good 2-way player.

Games played over 20.
Kakko is 1st in takeaways /60. It goes completely unnoticed because you expect him to be an offense machine, scoring goals, and bullying his way to the net. That's not happening. Instead, he's a defensive responsible player. Sounds great for your bottom 6, but ultimately production is what you want out of him. Hopefully he can add that to his game and become a really good player.

Jack will be fine. I'd bet anything he lost most of his gains from the offseason training and hasn't really had an opportunity to continue the change in his strength training. You don't gain 15-20 pounds of muscle during your offseason unless this is your first time working out. I think both need to work on their leg strength.

Nope they wouldn’t.

Value aside these teams have only made I think 1 trade together lol. Grabner...2 years ago? Irrelevant but a fun fact
Yeah, correct! No way we trade a guy to each other to crush us in our meetings. Both GMS would be dumb to consider. We should just continue the hate for each other, its better that way! ; )
