RNH gets so much flak on this site because he failed to live up to expectations but hes still a very good role player. Slide him onto a team like the Canucks and he would definitely be beneficial:

Miller Pettersson Kuzmenko
Garland Horvat Brock Boeser
Podkolzin Lazar RNH/Hoglander
Pearson Studnicka RNH/Hoglander
Fairly certain RNH would be in the Canucks top 6. But he isn't the type of player the Nucks need to fill out their roster. They have a lot of smaller, soft skill types already.

You say he gets too much flak and then proceed to put him potentially on your 4th line?

I'll make this short and sweet. He's the okayest player ever. He isn't a bust but I'd want more from a #1 pick.

LOL. Comparing two mediocre guys who've been in the league for 8-11 years, to another mediocre guy who's been in for 1.5 years........and they've all done nothing but fail.

"My guy failed much better'n your guy, so there!"
I love this new approach from fragile Leaf fans. Unless you’ve won the Cup our inability to win a 1st round is the same as teams/fans that get to experience long playoff runs! We both suck!

Whatever helps you sleep at night buddy boy

Who said they "suck"? Not me. Like making things up, do ya?

I said they're both mediocre. And one look at RNH's entire career and that's obvious. With Bunting, he's pretty new so it's more of an educated guess.

Insecure much? I’m not taking RNH over any of these 100. He doesn’t even flirt with top 50. Way to keep things civil.

You’re really smart for a 14 year old so hopefully by now you’ll know how bad this turned out

Elite top 6. If you look around the league. You will be hard pressed to find many top 6 players with RNH's IQ , 200 ft game and powerplay ability. This season he has solidified himself as one if the games best top 10 forwards.

How I view him is "a 1st overall pick who's never had a 30 goal season or hit 70 points, in over 11 years"..........a huge disappointment given his draft pedigree.

Last year RNH had 11 goals and 50 points for his 5.1m dollars. To put that in perspective, Michael Bunting made 950K last year and got 23 goals and 63 points.

To be blunt, they BOTH ride the coattails of star line-mates and are BOTH average top-6 players.
Bunting is not an average top 6 player.
He was a 26 year old rookie for a reason.

Bunting is to Matthews what Kunitz was to Sid.

As for RNH, he's a good player, I don't understand how he could possibly be underrated....he was drafted 1st overall.

Vancouver - Mt. Pleasant
Looks like RNH is going to get 100 points. The last time a team had 3 hundred point players - 1995-96, Pittsburgh Penguins, Mario Lemieux, 62G-92A-161PTS; Jaromir Jagr, 62G-87A-149PTS; Ron Francis, 27G-92A-119PTS. 82GP. Looking at those records, you gotta think that if it weren't for Connor McDavid, RNH gets nowhere close to 100 points.

watching him play over the years as a Canucks fan, I always thought he had elite top line center upside and just for whatever reason wasn’t able to take that next step.

He then became a solid two way centerman and is now becoming what we all thought he was going to be 10 years ago. He’s a great player and criminally underrated.

I guess you can call the Oilers a 3 man team now :sarcasm:

As a center, he's probably top 30-40 in the league. He's not a prolific 5v5 producer but he's a very good complimentary player on special teams.

As a winger, he's capable of playing on a top line, but ideally he's the third best guy on that line.

Since 18-19 he's 45th in league scoring, ~25th among centers, and 45th among all players. Generally I'd say he's a top 50 forward in the league.
I feel like this has aged fairly well.

He's obviously not a 100 point scorer without playing on that PP, but he's still probably no worse than a 60 point guy on a weaker team. He's not a line driver but there also aren't tons of guys who are smart enough and skilled enough to compliment world class guys like McDavid and Draisaitl.

Very good 2C that can slide up, 200ft game and strong IQ.

Steal of a contract even before this season.

There are some terrible picks in this list. Eberle, Suzuki, Hubs to name a few. I could go on but at this point it is not really worth it.
