Suspiria was pretty good.

I've never seen a Fulci movie but my friend who has seen every horror movie ever raves about him.

I think The Thing is definitely a horror movie, and it's a classic.


Thinking about it, I think 30 Days of Night is my favorite recent horror film, probably that and V/H/S.

Watched VHS over the weekend. Not too fond of found footage movies, but this was pretty creepy. I enjoyed some of the tapes more than others. I think the first one was probably the creepiest. I didn't really get the honeymoon one, wasn't scary and how did the wife know the girl?...Is the second one generally considered as better? and is it shot in the same style?

I also watched Hellraiser last night. It was pretty good. I thought the part of Frank coming back was creepy as hell. I thought the Cenobites were going to be the main part of the movie, but they weren't in it very much. Would have liked to see them more. I'll probably watch the rest of this series, do they stack up to this one?

IV comes the closest to stacking up IMO, the rest don't. I rank II as 3rd best of the Hellraiser series.

Wrong, that would be comedy.

I agree. A bad comedy has no redeeming qualities, whereas a bad horror movie will at least be (generally) accidentally funny.

Nope. Comedies. Not to mention, bad comedy isn't funny or endearing. A bad horror movie has the potential to be so bad it's good.

After Hellraiser II they generally aren't very good

Hellraiser II is probably one you will enjoy more. More gore and cenobites

I don't think this really counts, but Unsolved Mysteries. Dat music and Robert Stack's voice sent chills down my spine.

The show did nothing for me... it was the music that scared the **** out of me. As a kid, I couldn't even get to the show lol. I'd try to sit through the opening music on my own and end up running out of the room lol. I remember kicking the wall and breaking my toe one time. Totally sucked lol

I enjoyed it quite a bit... vampires were made to be savage hunters. No love, no romance, just pure brutal killing machines... nicely done I thought.

I liked the second one better, There was only 1 story I really didn't like because it was mostly in korean I think it was and had really no idea what was going on, But the ending saved it.

Yeah, the music and Robert Stack's voice were the main draws of the show. The composite sketches to a certain extent as well.

Nor should he. His character's death was one of the best in the Friday the 13th series, and horror genre in general.

I watched II and III over the last couple nights. It's an fairly enjoyable series. There were a few things in II that I had a big problem with, the biggest being why did the cenobite Dr. Channard die? He missed Kirsty with his tentacle things and hit the ground, and then blew up...

III I found more solid. The only thing holding me back from saying it was better than II is the new cenobites. I liked the original gang much more, just seemed like they were trying too hard with these ones. Probably will watch IV over the weekend.
