Oh yeah, forgot to ask.

Did you watch the Cabin Fever sequel/plan to watch the third?

I've seen the sequel once, but it was a while ago. Don't really have a solid opinion on it. I'll watch it again before the third comes out.

Have you seen the Hatchet films? I think you'd like them.

Love the genre but most of today's horror is terrible ,, Sad but very few quality films have come out since about 06 or so and even then from mid 90's thru today the quality has been poor

I grew up enjoying 80's/early 90's horror on VHS which was the golden age of genre

I was lucky enough as a kid that my mother worked at a video store and when it went out of business in early 90's I got about 40-50 films from that

Hellraiser is my favorite horror series.

I love this time of year. I'm gonna waste so much time watching awful horror movies.. Off the top of my head, I think the 80s were the last great decade for the genre. The 90s were just awful, mostly. And there's been some decent stuff in about the last 10ish years.

Cabin Fever 2 was pretty bad compared to the first.

And yeah, I've seen them all. Great for some entertainment.

I love it. I just really enjoy Cronenberg because of how gross his movies are. The effects are really good.

First time I saw the remake it was just me and the roommate's girlfriend. Neither of us had any idea what we were in for, aside from a Goldblumy experience. By the time the arm broke in the arm wrestling scene we knew we were in for some ****, so we both shotgunned beers to catch up with the level of inebriation we really needed for such a movie and then kept going to make it through. So many awesome "What am I watching" moments. Or to quote a ceiling-bound Brundlefly, "What is this? I don't know" moments.

Zombie movies are my favorite. Night of the Living Dead, Dawn of the Dead (both) and Land of the Dead are great. I also love 28 Days Later, although they technically aren't zombies.

John Carpenter's The Thing is another one of my favorites, just a great all around movie. Pretty much anything John Carpenter has done, I have enjoyed. They Live is awesome.

I don't know if it's horror, but Cronenberg's stuff is great. Videodrome and the Fly.

Day of the Dead (1985) is much better then Land of the Dead

And no love for Return of the Living Dead?

As for Carpenter ,, After Prince of Darkness the quality of his films began to drop

Usually try to go through a franchise every Halloween. Last year did NOES, which is my favorite.

I'm thinking of doing my own verson of the Dead series (I'll include Return and take out Diary of the Dead just because it's crap. I'll also include the Evil Dead's).

Jason Voorhees = GOAT

Tales from the Crypt TV series had a ton of great episodes. Ahnuld's appearance in the episode The Switch remains one of my favourites.

Tales from the Hood!

I used to enjoy horrors, but I don't get too much from them anymore. I don't know if it's just me getting older or the films getting worse, but I haven't seen much in the past 10 years or so that I thought was good.

The Conjuring wasn't awful so I'll probably give Annabelle a chance ( depending on the reviews as well.)

I actually did enjoy the remake of The Texas Chainsaw.

Also, Zombieland wasn't a horror. It was as much a romantic comedy. It was awesome though.

Always felt the Hellraiser franchise was overrated

I liked the 2nd better then 1st and was meh on a few sequels (Or outright thought they sucked)

Also good to see Candyman mentioned. That was probably my favorite horror of the 90s along with Scream.

Hellraiser 1 is great, 2 is an entertaining movie but really breaks from 1 (and the themes of Hellbound Heart) in a big way, and after that they're all pretty bad except for 4.

Hellbound Heart and the first Hellraiser both explore the nature of free will, its relationship to sin, and how both can affect those around you against their own will. It's got stuff to think about and analyze. The rest don't.

I was going to suggest Jason X, but at least that movie had its protagonist.

Yeah, the protaganist in H3...let's see. He's a doctor who works drunk, who sleeps with an emotionally compromised (to put it lightly) girl like a creep, and as far as action stars go he's firmly in the "Zap Rowsdower" school of philosophy.

In your nightmares
Trick R Treat was surprisingly good... as was the Conjuring and Sinister.

The Purge was a great concept but flopped on so many levels.

Tales from the Crypt was great growing up... remember staying up til 2am to watch it :biglaugh:

Bubba Ho-Tep was good for a laugh for the Bruce Campbell fans :p

I also remember the movie Gacy scaring the **** out of me as a kid.

You know what movie was really rubbish and insulting? High Tension.

What a POS that was. It's insulting because it leads you on like "gee I wonder who the killer is!" But you figure it out right away once the girl is the only one who doesn't get found and killed in that house.

WOAT.
